I wonder if this means there will be any other signings given the gaps in the numbering?
Perhaps 13 will remain unused but I'd like to think the other two numbers (14 and 17) were for a replacement for Smith and another striker. It seems likely now that these will come from the trialists who will hopefully appear in pre season matches.

Perhaps we've left that free in case a certain L Messi fancies a guest season 😉😎😊😊😊

21 players including 5 central defenders. I'm guessing Hall will go out on loan again, but I do wonder if Mullarkey could be our secret midfield dynamo. We've not kept Sutton on for nothing.

I love Toby but I never want to see him in the midfield again.

We may not have wanted to keep Sutton but he's under contract so...

When he is fit he is class anyway, but as to whether he is or not...

I do think some have been unnecessarily harsh on Sutton, he looked reasonably solid to me.
His goal at Wrexham was a great memory too, we played some decent stuff that evening.
-
FWIW, I thought he was a good solid player for us until his injury problems. If those are behind him, he will be a useful experienced option this year especially if, for any reason, Hannigan is unavailable.
-
I can't remember any particularly 'bad' Ritchie Sutton performance last season if I'm honest. Always reliable when played.
-
Decent enough defender, just not great on the ball

It wasn't a case of the fans criticising him at all. It seemed as if he fell completely out of favour with the manager after a certain point and, if that was the case, you'd guess he'd have been released if he wasn't already under contract for this season.
Did he have injury problems last season? I don't remember hearing that.

He'd be an invaluable part of our team if he were fit - unfortunately, he wasn't fit very often!

In Phil Parkinson's post-match dismay relating to the perceived defensive failings in the 3-1 defeat at Bromley at the end of February, Ritchie Sutton seemed to carry the can somewhat and he was duly dropped for the following Tuesday evening's home fixture against Woking (being replaced by loanee Yoan Zouma).
