The latest is that Sunderland took a chance on hoovering up some talent but will sign an play no end of foreigners before even considering Duncan or any other young home grown player.

With the result that he's barely played any first team football for anyone since leaving us and is unlikely to do so until he leaves Sunderland.

Hope that helps.

Which probably means that Sunderland will probably get relegated unless they give their decent young players a chance.

Relegation odds with Coral a stingy 15-8.

He was involved with the first team during their recent tour of N America.

Buried on the SAFC website are reports of the pre-season tour. I couldn't find anything the other day but tried a bit harder this time. Reports here http://www.safc.com/fixtures-and-results/fixtures. Duncan came on as late sub in all three games.

Not first team football though is it. It's non competitive matches.

Whenever I saw Sunderland last season they usually looked non competitive.

What will be will be. He has certainly embraced football at that level with a big club and they haven't ditched him. Should it not work out I'm sure the lad will have the chance of a professional contract in the league........if he doesn't like that then get a job with you're economics degree and play part time, somewhere.  ;)

I'm sure he has what it takes at Premier League level. Surely there would have been some scouts watching the Toulon Tournament?! If Sunderland don't want him then Bournemouth, Norwich etc should snap him up

I was at Bournemouth a few weeks ago sorting out a memorial brick for my father in law who passed away last October. I had a tour of the ground by one of their officials and did mention how good a player Duncan is and he said he would mention him to Eddie Howe
