Facts for Mansfield Fans (Please read before posting)

We are Altrincham Football Club.

We are currently enjoying one of our best seasons for years.  To us 10th is like being 2nd or 3rd on the resources we have.

Our hardcore support varies from 800-1000.  We are quite pleased with that as well as we went down to about 450 in the early parts of the decade.  We're trying to increase it but its not easy with Man United down a tram line and Man City a bus ride away.   City are making it even harder now by not being rubbish.

Our away support is around 100. Its often more but thats an average.

Its about 12% of our hardcore.  When we compare this to southern clubs with similar sized home crowds who bring 15 to us, we are quite pleased with this.

We run our away travel on the amount of people who are travelling and to do it as cheap as we can, if that means taking two minibuses and people in cars and on trains then thats what we do.

We enjoy a good banter with away fans.  When you sang "you're supposed to be at home" we sang "this is all we get at home".

If we have a match on a Tuesday our players train 19:00 - 21:00 on a Thursday.  Thats 2 hours to do fitness, free kicks corners the lot.  Thats why we were so pleased that our 9 men ran you close.

Most of us are just Alty fans.  We welcome United and City fans along as its always more the merrier.

Maybe the above will help you understand our club a little more...

I like how you use the words Southern clubs in your post & Man UTD in the same breath is there a link in there somewhere?

I love watching Man UTD on the box when their playing the likes of Chelsea, Spurs, Villa, etc the chant from the away supporters “We will see you all on the motorway” creases me up every time lol

Anyway back to your post yes it was a good game on Saturday & you ran us close But that’s where the comparisons end and I don’t mean to sound Big club Charlie.

We are in this league due to no fault of the Mansfield Town Fan where here due to a former owner taking more out of the club instead of rebuilding a great side when bigger clubs came in for the home grown timber players using the money from players & gate money to build a lavish lifestyle. .

But we are here in this horrible league & why we are here we will enjoy day's like Saturday & if we can have some fun on other fans forum it should be taken with a pinch of salt
I hope you now understand the plight of Mansfield Town....

If you want to know more of the man who shall not be named use any of the search engine sites I’m sure you will come across this man .by typing Mansfield Town or SFFC

The bit you are missing is that no-one is saying we are bigger than you.

No Alty fan is daft enough to think that.

I was unaware that you had been done over...I shall indeed research this.

Its a good read especially when the SFFC was involved in the downfall of the man who shall not be named....

If you go on you tube type in Mansfield V Middlesborough FA CUP 4 th round you will see the group in action

Well i know this wasn't directed to me but this is a horrible league to me because.

Instead of Notts County, Bradford etc, we go to Barrow, Hayes & Yeading.

And personally for me its horrible, I miss the classic Derby matchs with the likes of Notts, Chesterfield, Lincoln.

I understand how you're doing well, but you must understand the difference between, League football, and Non-league football and (Sorry Hayes) Playing teams like Hayes who are simply dreadful.

How is Lincoln a derby? It's hardly local!

Maybe not a "Derby" But it's quite a important match to both set of fans when we play, also we always seem to bring a very good following to there ground.

Well think how we feel then... We miss our Derby games at Old Trafford and Eastlands..

But we learnt to cope with it all...

There are a lot of differences between league and non league football. In non league you can turn up at 2.59pm and get in before kick off. You can stand on terraces, mix with other fans, find helpful English speaking stewards, laugh at the refereeing decisions, visit places you have never heard of and get out without people throwing bricks at you. In league football you can queue up for twenty minutes to pay a weeks wages for a ticket, then queue again to get in and have a Kurdish immigrant tell you it is now illegal to sit where you have been sitting for the last ten years so you now have to sit behind a concrete post where you can only see half the pitch, you can enjoy throwing bottles of piss at other clubs fans and ripping seats out to use as weapons or shields in the after match fight with police. With automatic promotion and relegation the gap is closing, but hopefully there will always be a difference.

Well For your sake let's make sure Alty don't achieve League status, you see i knew that result helped some Alty fans.

Also Everyone you said about non-league is pretty much League football to. Incept for mixing with fans, if you mean't the opposite supporters.

You're right on one point though, atleast i don't get bricks thrown at me anymore ;)
