Altrincham FC First Team / Re: PP and Neil

Good, upcoming managers seem to have the knack of moving on at exactly the right time for them, usually when they deem that they have taken the club as far as they can.  That way their CV is always healthy. Danny Cowley was obviously not going to go any further with a club like Braintree (and so it has proved) and is now doing the same at Lincoln. Watch him get them promoted this year and then move up to a Championship club.  Yes PP and Neil will move on, but when it is right for them and nothing we can do  in terms of contract extensions will affect that, I suspect.

A pre season competition would be worse. Different leagues starting on different days, what to do if knocked out in round one, plus all clubs like to prepare for the season in different ways..

The competition is now so outdated. The only way to make everyone happy would be freedom to field whatever side you wanted with no penalty. That way you could take it as seriously as you wanted (some will).

Brackley is like being back in the Evostick.  Poor crowds, no decent pubs and no station. Hereford and Leamington would both be cracking days out.

Looks like we'll have a good turn out.  Only downside is that they play at an athletics stadium so we'll be miles from the pitch.

Whatever our fixture list looks like, Shaw Lane are still 3 games behind us. Their game tonight is already off!

Probably suits us to play on a firmer pitch at a later date.

Probably the biggest problem is that' its in a residential area. Light, noise and traffic 25 afternoons/evening is one thing, but use potentially 200 days of the tear is another. Ok for an out of town industrial estate type ground but I doubt we'd get it through planning.

Shaun Densmore has played in midfield before.

I love the fact that an article titled 'No More Infighting' has led to even more Forum infighting. To that end he has failed already.

He's made an immediate impact at Halifax. 3-0 down at half time.
