Title: Bad News from Grays
Post by: OldhamAlty on September 13, 2008, 11:04:21 PM
From main site:

Grays Athletic announce that "Following yesterday‘s announcement Grays Athletic Owner/Chairman/Manager, Mick Woodward, has taken the decision to stand down from his position and place the club up for sale, the team will continue to fulfil their remaining fixtures. More news when available".

This is terrible if it means anything might happen to them. Grays are one of the best clubs in the conference.

It's good when men have the honesty and integrity to look at themselves and see the need for an improvement.

Good luck to Mick Woodward and Grays, both of whom I have a lot of respect for.

Reading between the lines i get the feeling some of the grays fans do not appreicate the massive influence Mr Woodward has had on the club and they expect him to pour more and more money in as required to give them success they seem to expect as a right?

Mr Woodward is Mr Grays as far as I can see

O'Shea appointed Grays new boss

Grays Athletic have appointed Tim O'Shea as their new manager, following chairman Mike Woodward's decision to step down from the role.

O'Shea was appointed as a coach at the club in February but has been promoted to manager, with Gary Phillips becoming his new assistant.

Woodward intends to step down as chairman and has put his share in the club up for sale.

He told BBC Essex: "The minority are morons and they've driven me out."
