So what do we want on Tuesday then.....
« on: March 09, 2008, 08:19:09 AM »

19     Altrincham        36     -24     32
20    Farsley Celtic      34    -22    31
21    Weymouth    33    -20    30
22    Northwich       33    -32    22
23    Stafford Rangers   34    -38    19
24    Droylsden       33    -51    13

Apart from an Alty win that begins with an early goal and contains champagne football for the other 85 mins, what do we want to happen in Weymouth v Farsley?

Do we want a draw so we climb a way from both of them a little?

Or do we want one to win so that one of them gets a bit further away from safety?

I genuinely don't know.

Sickeningly, a Farcely win. They just seem capable of winning more games than Weymouth.

A draw for me. Keep them both below us as the games start dwindling down!

If memory serves Farsley play Weymouth twice; doing the double will really put the pressure on Weymouth.

It hurts to want Farsley to win, but I think this might be our best chance.

Interesting this, Weymouth have the games in hand so I would want them not to get any points, on the other hand want to keep Farsley below us, on this occasion I would have to say a Farsley win is best.

We need to win if possible, a draw in the other game for me.

Farsley win, then we can go to weymouth and beat them on the last day of the season to send them down. One last trip to the south coast wont go amiss. If Torquay or Exeter go up then we might only have to go down there once.

You are forgetting a possible double coastal trip to Eastbourne and Lewes.

I agree with Ecky. It's very difficult to know. My initial instinct was that we want one team to win both games, but that would start to look like we are putting asll our eggs in one basket as such, so we would be relying on that team not to go on a really good run over the last 10 games.

After more thought, I am warming to the idea of 2 draws. That way, both sides are still in trouble, and we hopefully can gain distance on both of them by winning on Tuesday.

How about both clubs go into Administration before Tuesday?? :) :) :)

why do i sense a 50 pts season again. 18 pts with the games remaining is far from impossible and with a win or a point on tuesday and a weymouth and farsley draw then we can start to get ready for another season of BSP football next season

If we get 18 points between now and the end of the season and finish on a total 50 I'll run to Lewes next year. In terms of Farsley v Weymouth Foz's "two draws" theory sounds good to me, but if someone is going to win, I would rather it be Farsley as I can't see them going down anyway.

Two draws, just hope they don,t win one each that would leave no room for any slip ups by us. The way the weather is in dorset at the moment there must be a good chance that the game will be off thus putting a bit more pressure on them both to fit the remaining games into a decent schedule.
Nice to see that torquay have to travel to yorkshire twice this week kind of makes up for our recent trips to devon. ;)
