It's a tough call...

Shotton for looking solid, Logan for looking dangerous going forward, and all of the boys collectively for not giving a t*ss that everyone expects them to fail, bouncing back from a poor start, and putting some excellent results together.

I would have voted for Logan but I saw nothing of his against Droylsdon so I am going to vote for Shotton.

Why is robbie lawton in the group of options ?

I think Darren Tinson has got better and better and is now looking like the rock we hoped we'd signed.

Whilst I'm happy to admit that he has got better Ballers I would have to suggest that if he resembles the rock we hoped that we'd signed then we must have been in the market for either Gibraltar or the Great Orme given the mobility (or lack of) he continues to show albeit less often than was the case at the start of the season

Yes, Phillip, a rock. i.e. He stands tall in the centre of defence commanding it (rocks don't run about a lot you see). His physical strength and positional awareness means that he can cope with the larger conference forwards in a way that Shotton and Munroe can't. By that I mean they're having to time jumps or get across to their man. Tinno doesn't.

You didn't think we'd signed a defender with the speed of light to start with did you?

Tinno gets my vote, it was only a matter of time before he gelled with the team and organised us and dominated the game like we have seen him do so many times before!

Sorry if I'm being at all pedantic here garreth but my name is spelt with only 1 'l'

I did say that he'd improved didn't I? Just struggling (still) to get my bonce around signing one 37 year old to replace someone of a similar age.....footy is a game of opinions though isn't it?, particularly for the fans, and to be honest it's great that we can discuss this matter in such a civilised manner.

BTW I'd have voted for Chris Lane too, given the option

Philipstine,

The point was that his job isn't to be mobile and pacey. It is to be firm in the heart of defence, winning aerial battles and organising others around him. i.e. being a 'rock'. Although he is still noticeable swifter than Talbs. I think the thing was at the start of the season it was the first time he'd played in a (relatively) poor side for the best part of 12 years and the positions he had always taken up were leaving him somewhat more exposed.

Now they have gelled and he knows where to position himself, or maybe more to the point the rest of the defence are listening to him more and where he is positioning them, we're *touch wood* looking more solid.

Laney has been very good as well thus far. Robbie has played well at times, I'm not expecting him to play well when he's on the wing, not really his fault. Hopefully, the improvements will continue.
