Title: Derby Day is coming.
Post by: Jenga on December 04, 2007, 08:53:55 AM
Well given the position of both teams these games are now MASSIVE.

6 points for the Alty within a week is just what we need.

Lets hope we can bag the lot.

The palms of my hands are getting sweaty just thinking about it.

What would happen if we sent the Idols to play Vics then?

The Idols would loose; even Vics could beat 'em!!!  :D

Yes, we have a stadium which is able to accomodate more than one row of fans behind each goal.

 5 reason's why alty r going to win 2-0

1 northwich deflated after losing on boxing day
2 there support when they came last season was sh*t only thing i heard was a cheer when col got sent off (we still won)
3 the grounds sh*t
4 we have the leagues best away support in the league
5 we'll make the victoria 'sh*t hole' stadium Moss Lane as we out sing there lawsy sh*t support

As has been said above, this could be a massive 6 points for us that is very, very achievable IF WE GO ABOUT IT CORRECTLY.

We've not got to take anything for granted about their situation but just focus on the matches and get the points which would fire us very much in the right direction.

I'm REALLY looking forward to these two!

Come on you Supers!!

I hope we attract the same kind of attendance as last year on Boxing Day. 2,400 was well above my expectations even for such a big game. Can we do the same again? United are away at Sunderland and City are playing the following day so there is every chance.

I'll be there and I can't wait!!

Northwich are going through a personality crisis at the moment.

Onm the one hand they are generously donating money to Stafford who clearly have bigger problems than the vics.

On the other hand now it seems vics will surivvie they are optmistically seeming to think all is well with this taleover which saddles them at the VS for 25 yrs feeding the walrus' pension and will probably still mean admin and the consequences thereof.

A very odd situation but we will beat them and echo the JB battlecry

up da reds!

Is it worth looking at the £5 entrance to Man City & Man U season ticket holders?

I think this particular fixture is attractive enough to local people without dropping prices to a fiver. It's a local derby and it's got a bit of an edge to it. Keep it full price and spread the word as much as possible to make sure people turn out for it.

Cannot wait for Boxing Day and then the return fixture on New Years Day!

Obviously both games will be twinned with all day sessions!

COME ON ALTY!

I wonder if the ARS will have to drink this Salt mining town dry again; i think we will.

Not to mention the local fluff that will need dealing with too.

If its played on New Years Day would be good to get loads in a few pubs before the game and build up the atmosphere, cant we get a footabll special put on leaving Alty station at 11am ??? ::)

Post by: Not Alty but well Salty on December 10, 2007, 08:09:28 PM
Actually it`s no longer a salt-mining town-
The last-working salt works around town was shut as soon as the (American-owned- special relationship n all that!) British Salt bought em out. Has been pretty much chemicals (+ the `Anywheresville` stuff that even the likes of characterless Kettering could lay claim to) for about 80 years really, unless you`re into museums.
Actually it amuses me that footie fans (far & broad) like to have a dig at thie rivals` towns bein a dump- as if they would conduct a cultural tour pre-match!
