Must say I was pretty harsh in my appraisal of Holsgrove last night. To be fair he was doing some good running down the wing in the first half and he did score and get an assist but what is up with his dribbling?

Also from Ken Mckenna's notes in the CSC round 1 programme vs Hyde "there's also the small matter of 1,500 for the eventual winners"

So a win this weekend - plus if we won the cvs would mean 12,500 in prize money :)

I apologise if my choice of the phrase " pub team " has offended anyone, it certainly is not meant to be patronising to  the proud players of  Runcorn Linnets who pulled on their shirts last night for what was a very important game in their history. Against a team 4 leagues higher and a with a  mighty reputation in non league history BUT we should be able to easily win a game at that level.

I know football is a very funny game and no one is invicible ( we ourselves were once the cup upset kings ) but we struggled against Curzon and if we do take that mighty step down next season it ain't going to be a walk in the park.

Wins do breed confidence and I hope we can build on the past 4 games, but my half empty glass is not getting topped up at the moment  :-\ :-\     sorry

How much do we get for winning it? (if anything)

Sweet fa apart from a trophy for the winners. >:(
The amount of money the Cheshire FA make from local football and they can't spare a few grand's worth of prize money to help their affliated clubs.

I thought that there was prize money as well until about six weeks ago when I found out that there is none, as the competition no longer has a sponsor.

I think that says it all about the Cheshire FA, to not be able to find a sponsor for their major tournament is embarrassing.

Maybe it could be the 'Cheshire Custard Cream Cup' (or the four c's cup, please be 4 major people on the Cheshire FA Board ....), they wouldn't need money just the biscuit tin filling on a meeting by meeting basis ?
