This is like the general election when Mr Snow gets up and does his bit on the TV.
0 = we will get relegated, sinnout out and attendances stoop to an all time low, the forum is in total meltdown.
25 = we avoid relegation and sinnott has a kick up the ass from the board, everyone on the forum is arguing with each other.
50 = mid table with sinnot feeling ok about his job, mediocre attendances, we discuss stoppers and the bottlebar as everything else is just plain old jane.
75 = play off are close by now and sinnott is a great guy, the forum is boyant and we have group hugs.
100 = We win the league, sinnott gets a knighthood and the attendances rise to over 1200 per game, the forum goes in to meltdown with euphoria.
CURRENTLY I WILL PLACE THE SWINGOMETER AT 60.
lets see where it is at after Saturday.

Up to 70 if we win on Saturday I'd say.

Got to be 100, same in MPH as per James Lawries shot at the crossbar
-
After an excellent result today, not watched by me as i was in Blackpool I can only envisage what the Swingometer will be.
I am going to jump to 73. Not quite in the play off places yet so can go to 75.
However due to the scoreline I think we have to have 76%
76%

Agreed. Not the best game today but getting into the play off positions warrants the 75%. A small climb this week to 78, performance was not full of Zest though today.

Just bumping the swingometer back up to its rightful place
At least 1 point on Saturday will take us into the 80's
Agood performance with no points willdrop us back to 75
A poor performance will leave us on 70 or less
-
A dissapointing result today. Were we outplayed but the scoreline seems harsh to me.
Some poor defending, but we created alot of chances.
Promotion seems a world away again and we drop out of the playoff positions after only just entering them, many fans left the ground at 5-1 through despair today.
The swingometer has taken a beating today and dropped from 78 to a very dissapointing...............

Now a very creditable 6th in the table
Next weeks opponents are 8th....that should be a good test
At present the swingometer has risen to
70

75 for me as I have seen a marked improvement in our defence with Lynch RB and Lees LB and both CB's looked more commanding, clearly been working on our defence this last 2 weeks.

Thanks, I am doing ok, battered and bruised but my car is apparently all but a write off. Happened on Delahays Road as it changes to Thorley Lane, car pulled out onto me nothing I could do but smash into her, had no where to go. But at least I am alive to tell the tale and my wife and kids were not in the car.

Jenga, you put a personal injury claim in for it yet? Don't go through the insurance for it, they are terrible at giving out bad settlements. If you want I can give you the number for a decent pi firm?.

So where is it now....
After dropping to 40 after FCUM...
I place it as 60...

Anybody in the top 10, could easily mount a push for the PO's
Brackets showing the table if the teams take into account games in hand
1 Hyde FC 24. 33 56 2 games + 0 (56)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
2 Stalybridge Celtic 22 26 48 2 games + 6 (54)
3 Guiseley 21 25 44 3 games + 9 (53)
4 Nuneaton Town 22 18 41 2 games + 6. (47)
5 FC Halifax Town 22 11 39 2 games + 6 (45)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
6 Worcester City 22 6 38 2 games + 6 (44)
7 Gainsborough 22 5 38 2 games + 6 (44)
8 Altrincham 20 15 32 4 games + 12 (44)
9 Corby Town FC 21 12 32 3 games + 9 (41).
10 Boston United 22 -3 31 2 games + 6 (37).
Just shows how tight it is.... We could do with turning 2-0 into 4-0 especially when we create chances as GD may become vital to gaining a spot in the PO's
-
After a good display, but still 7 points off the play offs, albeit with 2 games in hand I will be putting the swingometer at my favourite position :-
69 %

It must be swinging positive as I am know considering going too Droylsden.

Mr.Wetblanket here. Both our games in hand are away, at Hinckley and Blyth. I'll be delighted if we do get 6 points from them, but our away form doesn't fill me with confidence.

Hinckley have games in hand on everybody above them. Their Cup run also suggests that they're better than that League position indicates. And Blyth are very poor this season, but have a new manager and a month to get it right in before we head up there. Our away form doesn't generally convince, despite a couple of excellent performances on the road - but only a couple.
I intend to have a week off and take in the Blyth and Gainsborough games unless a mega freeze sets in. Blyth will be my fourth new ground this season, and I haven't been to Gainsborough since 1969 !

-
Seems to be a bit of optiminism in the camp at the minute
So I shall place us at 70
Playoffs still in sight and 4 points isn't the worlds biggest gap...
If we win our next 2/3 games (Harrogate and blyth followed by Gainsbourgh) we'll be on a 5 game winning streak going into Celtic whom looked poor v Droylsden
Looking at Halifax (sat in 3rd) they've gone on a major winning streak since we beat them 4-2 going from 10th (their forum thought the season was over) to be comfortably in the PO's
Just goes to show what happens with a decent run in this league
-
75 for me.,,,

75 = play off are close by now and sinnott is a great guy, the forum is boyant and we have group hugs.

Started off the season on a mere 49, but now after matches like Colwyn Bay (away) and Boston United we've made it up to 76. Around 80 if we can make it into the play offs

72 for me. Realistic play off chance and scoring goals for fun, main downers have been the cup exits and maddening inconsistency.

After Bishops Stortford 50
After Histon 66
After today's signing 70

well tonight I'm swinging.
I daren't go up to 80% - so it's 78% for me.
And that concludes the voting from the York jury.

Up to 75% after tonights performance, win on Sat could be into the 80's!! :D

Guaranteed 8th place, one match to go.
58 for me.
-
Taking leauge and cup into account 50 for me right down the middle the close season will be one of our most important for many years imo with reeves going the man who pretty much kept the season alive who will sinnot replace him with ? Massive massive decisions ahead over to you Lee
-
45

Yes 50 for me too
-
for me the swingometer has been fairly steady at 50-75% all season...dropping to below 50 only after the colwyn bay debacle when i thought the manager had totally lost it......
i think it'll come to rest at about 60% which is a good reflective average for the season we've had...

I'm not doubting the point you're making, but how many of them goals were meaningless (i.e goals that didnt actually earn us points)
-
for the record if you deducted all Reeves goals this season we would now have 35 points - so not that many pointless meaningless goals as you think
now add your hypothetical replacement striker and how many points do we have?
-
Why do we need to do lots of hypothetical workings?
If we'd have had McGivern as a partner from the start then we might have made the playoffs regardless of the state of the midfield or defence.
If we'd have unearthed the right defensive pairings we could have won lots of games one nil without Reeves. It's all pie in the sky.
To say we would have been relegated is nonsense and someone with your level of non league knowledge knows it really, you've just become clouded with a hatred of the current manager.

35 points without Reeves
if you can not see the problem then it not my judgement clouded
McGivern a better partner than Redshaw? he only had one good game and that was yesterday
-
It's interesting as well, because I'm pretty sure Reeves cited Sinnott's appointment as one of his main reasons for staying.
Thats what Damien told you was it????

The problem is that we have had a error prone defence all season and little protection for it from the midfield.
Signings in those areas have either failed to live up to expectation or have been not been right for the job.
This has to be improved from the start of next season.
Just to confirm what was being hinted at about me yesterday, and what you were referring to before about "happy clappers" I'm as disappointed as anyone about how the season has panned out.
It depends on how you want to look at things. I'd prefer to say we missed the playoffs by say 8 points, you prefer to say we were 15 points off relegation. Either way we missed our target this season.
I just don't think that ripping it all up and starting again is the answer.
-
What, is it completely unbelievable that I might have spoken to one of the players? That's one of the great things about our club, you can approach people and ask them things. Reeves has respect for Sinnott they were together at Leeds.
no it is not unbelievable at all............i have spoken to Damien many times myself............and recently as well
-
yes we must improve
my gripe with the manager is that i have no faith or trust in him getting it right - tactically or attracting the right players
ripping it all up? not really anything to rip up - we have little other than Reeves
-
We will never know how we would have done without Reeves, nor can any theory be proven. I doubt he will be here next season so then is the time to pass judgment on how we do without him.
-
Swingometer ends at the low end. Yes we have brought on some good forwards Reeves & Lawrie both have or will move on. Depending on who chooses to stay we have little to build on for next season. Sinnot not able to sort defence this season, why should we trust him for next?
