Looking forward to my first game of the season. Hoping Fitzpatrick is available.
Thompson
Senior Mullarkey Hannigan Fitzpatrick
Moult Furman
Mooney Kosylo Colclough
Dinanga
Subs : Bunney, Pringle, Hancock, Peers Leitch-Smith
Alty 1-0 NC (Kosylo).
Never know if its a good thing to have a 2 week match break or not, but it is what it is. Would take a draw as long as we give KL an arse kicking on Tuesday
-
I think its going to be really tough, deffo take a draw, KL tuesday more winnable

There’s a preview show of Saturdays game love on YouTube at 7pm

I wouldn’t bother this ‘Altrincham expert’ is f**king clueless
-
Old wooden mainstand with about 500 seats?
-
I don't think the 2-week break would have done us any favours, but I'm glad we'll get some minutes under our belts again before Kings Lynn - which we should be disappointed not to take 3 points from, and I wouldn't want to go into that one totally cold.
Free hit on Saturday as long as we don't embarrass ourselves - which I don't think we will.

That's how I'm looking at this one, too.

Free Hit ? Lets go and approach every game as winnable. We're not canon fodder.

God love us for being ambitious - most predictions each week are for an Alty win - but being superstitious about it, this team has always tended to surprise us when we don't necessarily expect it. So let's wait and see.
Notts will be up there in the top reaches of the playoffs (if not the title) and aren't what we're measured on (yet).
-
Marple is right. To prosper in the short term, we need to be winning games like Tuesday. Games against the big players and spenders like on Saturday, whilst they would be great to win, are a free hit.
In many ways a win on Saturday and a loss on Tuesday would be worse than the other way round.
Win Tuesday and a point tomorrow is my hope.
-
At this level we've always tended to have a bit of an early season marquee win in us, in front of a bumper crowd...
I can recall Bristol Rovers, Tranmere and Cheltenham from recent times.
Hopefully tomorrow can be another big occasion like those were.
-
Having not played for 2 weeks may affect us, hopefully not, the key use of the correct substitutions will make a difference as legs get weary.
It would be nice to give Notts there first defeat, but would be more than happy with a point.
-
Imho there's no 'free hit' in a league match
-
Imho there's no 'free hit' in a league match
It's a free hit in the sense that we're not expected to get anything out of it so if we do (and I sincerely hope we can) it would be a bonus.
How many of us really thought we'd get a win at Torquay?

Certainly not me - either this season or last season !
I know form lines don't necessarily work out in football, but it's worth noting that Notts County only drew at Weymouth....and so did Dover who we've already beaten. We're perfectly capable of taking a point from this, and with the breaks we could even nick a win.

@jhunterchron
Lee Johnson has confirmed that Anthony Patterson has joined Notts County on a short term loan deal.
Has been done in time for AP to be in contention for their game at Altrincham tomorrow. #safc

It's high time that we exacted a modicum of revenge for 16th November 1972:

Don't forget we also missed a match because of Macc Town going bust, as well as the matches against Yeovil and King's Lynn. The only good thing about it is we will have had time to work on making some sort of a defence with all the players out (though how much normal training will have been done in the circumstances I don't know), but to be honest, I think we will be up against it tomorrow.
-
Had a quick nose at the county forum. One of two will be making their way to see the Frank Sidebottom statue. I like that.

Good luck today boys. We all know what you can do and are right behind you today!
Come on you Super Robins!!!!
-
Superb lads. What a 3 points
-
What a win
-
Bloody awesome result lads.
-
Get in there!
What a great result and nice to get a clean sheet too!
Here's to more of the same on Tuesday! 😉
Come on you Supers!!
-
Excellent result! Well done to Phil and the lads! :)
-
Great to win in front of a decent sized crowd.
A lot of decent performances today. Bunney filled in well at LB, all the back four looked solid. Colclough and Mooney impressive again.
Thought their keeper was busier than ours.
Well done to Parky, Sorvs and the lads 8)
-
Superb result and performance. Can only remember Thompson making the one save. Feels bad to single one player out but Moult was different class.
Decent turn out from NC but how quiet?
If we can back this up by beasting KL it will a very impressive start

You read it here first !

Jake Moult you legend what a performance from our captain 👏 have to say though the whole team were on it from the first kick yes we had to dig in at times but what a partnership Tom and Toby are forming in the middle fair play to County fans aswell passed many after the game who took time to shake hands and say well done and all the best for the season quality 👏 and just how it should be.On to Tuesday and a great chance to be knocking on the door of the playoff positions.
-
See Alistair Smith scored twice for Sutton today too.
-
Been away this weekend (not golf).

Yeah, totally agree, that was a solid turn out from Notts with no problems.
-
That’s an excellent turnout well done

First Alty game I ever went to. They came to our school wanting volunteers to sell programmes in return for getting in free.

Well done Alty
What was the attendance please..
Was golf for me during the latter half of the game against my daughter, who I shall be reporting to the R&A for breaking several rules as well as not following the etiquette of the game.
Goodness knows what she will be like when we progress from Crazy Golf!
-
See Alistair Smith scored twice for Sutton today too.
He got us a mention on the Football League show too! Hopefully we'll be on it regularly before too long.
-
Totally tubular

A quick thank you to the Notts County fans that contributed to the Connor Kirby fund. By all accounts they were impeccably behaved yesterday depite what must have been a frustrating result for them.
Looking forward to going to Meadow Lane.

Their good behaviour extended to not disturbing the neighbours by keeping very quiet indeed.
-
We also had the good sense not to taunt them and focus on getting behind our own team.....with some abuse of Macc of course.
Last thing we want is some of our supporters getting a hiding on the way back into town. Credit yesterday to County and the a stewarding team

What happened to the pre-match promise on the club website that "Season Ticket holders will be able to access the ground through Gate 4 on Moss Lane, without the need to queue for the turnstiles"..?

Yes, I thought I'd read that somewhere too.

I just had a look at a result prediction thread on the Notts County forum.
27 of them predicted a County win (some as many as 4-0)
8 predicted a draw.
3 predicted Alty to win (including congratulations to one solitary individual who predicted the correct score and another who placed a bet on Alty to win at threes).
