People's club
« on: January 08, 2008, 04:41:05 PM »

It seems that these pepole are sniffing around a load of clubs, looking for a candidate to be the new MyFootball club (like Webbed-feet became).

Here is what they have on Alty:

Oh FFS that is the last thing this club needs.  40,000 net nerds playing Football Manager.  I doubt GG would sell to them anyway.

We have enough net nerds on here as it is!

Are you not A net nurd yourself? before you start having a go at people.
I would hate to see Alty run the way they want.

Me? I do it as a job!  But doesn't mean I can run a football club.

There's football manager 2007 for that!

This concept is defo not the way forward for such a great club like Alty. The people who promote this method of ownership claim to be genuine football fans but I reckon their knowledge on football and in particular Alty is sweet FA. Not sure how it works for Gravesend but Im sure it will end in tears sooner rather than later. Surely their gaffer Daish must be a bit p*ssed off with it all

I'm sure that the people who organise this will be making money too.

They should start a club from scratch rather than buy one.

God what an evil idea it is - especially the idea that members pick the team each week. Yuk.

I would use extreme measures to stop this ever happening at Alty, we are a club based on tradition and proud History, it’s unthinkable!

Investment (or charity if you prefer) is vital at our level but not in this way. Other than letting fans pick the side and being a glorified pc game what are the other objectives of this Peoplesclub and such like outfits ? Although I would not get involved it seems a helluva lot of people are

Not really. They-ve had 1000 sign ups so far in a few months and they need 40,000. I'll also be frank and state if they are looking to invest there are far better options and clubs in a greater need (look at luton this week). Which is a good thing.
