Weather forecast?
« on: October 01, 2020, 12:04:11 PM »

Lots of heavy rain forecast for Saturday. Having the first game washed out would be a rubbish way to start the new season...any thoughts on using the pitch covers?

As it requires a considerable number of people to both get the covers on, and more importantly get them off ...then the current Covid restrictions of the Rule of 6 etc will not allow the covers to be put down.

So many different rules in different parts of the UK: are you not allowed more than 6 outdoors down there?

It is stark raving bonkers!

No more than six socialising anywhere, unless it's one large household.

The question is

Would they be socialising or doing a job of work?

The grouse on my estate have been a bloody menace this year. Definitely a work thing to clear the buggers out.

I seem to remember Dave Foreshaw once claiming he used to get 20p a bird for shooting the pigeons at Flixton (about as much as their top  player was on, as I recall). Two birds with one stone?

There must be some households of seven locally who might be persuaded. I know of one at any rate which includes someone who did some coaching for Alty a few years ago, and now works for Halifax. Very impressed if anyone can name him...
