He is on now.

Wonder if we'll get the blame for his drug bust again.

To be fair to him he has been very honest. No mention of alty so far.

Always remeber Ward tucking away his late pen against the Heed...

Think Ward brought him to Moss Lane from Leigh RMI, where he had played alongside the diminutive new Alty player-manager.

A dodgy centre half who played a handful of games and then vanished, as I recall.

Whatever happened to Mark Quayle then...?

If I remember rightly Mark Quayle came with a quite a good reputation (scored a few for Scarborough maybe) and wasn't that bad?

Or am I way off!

Quayle was a small and fast striker who looked very promising for us whilst playing a few games 'on trial' at the start of the 2000/01 season.

Like the aforementioned Turkington, I think that he had played alongside Ward at Leigh RMI.

Then Morecambe swooped and took him into the Conference.

I suspect you are right in that he probably did turn out for Scarborough at a later date.

A few years ago I officiated on a Cheshire County FA Sunday Cup fixture somewhere in the Runcorn FA District

One of the teams contained both Eddie Turkington and his brother

Eddie T resembled a medium sized airline hangar and spent the limited amount of time he remained on the field of play advising anyone interested and everyone not interested that he had played for Altrincham. I recall him being less than entertained when I advised the interested parties (and also the majority of those present who didn't give a bugger) of what I remembered of his AFC career.

His brother, I seem to recall, was dismissed for calling me a F*$£#ng potato head

Phil,

My word, that's harsh.

Your decision to send him off for that, I mean.

I was in fact an assistant referee on this occasion hence the decision was not mine. In fact I never heard the observation
