Title: Awareness Idea?
Post by: Butty on March 28, 2011, 04:53:44 PM
I know we always talk on here about getting the kids interested from an early age, so here is an idea with a precedent. Last weekend, FCUM ran a Youth Day, where all U18s gained free admission to the match, as well as other activities around Bury. For the match they had an attendance of 2800, which is around double their average home attendance for this season. We'll see at their next home game how many people have been 'hooked' by the offer, but would a one off event like this boost the club's awareness around the local schools? All the work in promoting the day was done by the younger fans who posted leaflets and handouts around the local schools, so it is possible.

Eastbourne last day would surely get the people in? Especially if we're up....

We have done similar things in recent seasons and got significantly higher crowds for games.

Aldershot and Grays Athletic spring to mind.

This being done for the Eastbourne game (especially if when we're safe) would be fantastic and bring us an extra bit of cash for over the summer.

Doesnt seem the best idea if its the last game of the season, kids will forget by the time the new season starts
