Title: Graham leaves me on the brink
Post by: James Black on September 21, 2008, 09:18:11 PM
Last night was a huge sucess until the sarcastic and serious comments came in. Graham revealed pretty much last night that Chrissie denham won't play for Alty again with him incharge ( lets make tuesday night a denham night). Yes he refused to train on friday and he also made his feelings felt on tuesday at full time but i'm sorry but i would of done the same thing if i had to do overtime without getting paid for it.

Yes there were some unsavoury incidents but i like many have just about come to the end of my tether with comments that were ruining and tering our club apart but i'm sorry if we can't have our say about a club that we love more then certain people right now acctually realise i think it's time we carriered on with having our say continued on tuesday.

I'm sorry but when i'm one of many alty fans who unfortunately recieved the end of heathcotes wanka sign yesterday what kind of reaction did the man expect oh it's ok graham anytime i've just travelled to (Histon,Woking and stevenage) already this season and will be a rushden a week tomorrow but call me a wanka i don't care do it again and again are you having a laugh.

5 chants only tuesday please Heathcote out , I am not a wanka, One chrissie denham, Alty till i die and finaly come on alty

P.S heads up boys go get em

Well for a start he wasn't there. Followed by him showing off the auction items saying the picture would be a one off because at least one player won't be on it come january ( Denham). He went onto say one player didn't turn up to training friday night (Denham). there was more but i've forgotten

Did he specifically mention it being Denham?

No offence James, but your ability to quote people accurately doesn't fill me with confidence just lately.

So if this is true..and Denham is the only one who refuses to train..does this make him some kind of working class hero?

Are you saying a player that refuses to train (if its true) should keep his place over another player who did train?

sorry ecky but you have to admit part from stu in net denham is probably the best player in our team and at a time like this we need our best players sticking together

Is that fact or assumption?

There is more too the team than one player, however |I hope they clear it up.

If not we need to rally round

I think thepeople have made their frustrations known now.

On Tuesday I want ot hear plenty of support for the team, al the players. You don't need to sing the Graham Heathcote song if you don't too.

There's no/less need now really to make the atmosphere as unpleasant as it was on Saturday. I'm hoping that the emotion in the ground is channeled into supporting the team as it was between the 70-th -88th minutes on Saturday.

Chris Denham agreed to join Alty as a part time player.

For me he has fulfilled his side of any agreement and played to his potential....his effort has been obvious.

He has every right to refuse to train extra nights than what was agreed when he joined.

He maybe could have explained this to the 'cote in a more reasoning way.

A brilliant man mager may have cajoled him into it with an arm round the shoulder and a "I know you've been one of our best and don't need it but this could make you a better player" type persuasion.

Maybe Chris has read the comments the 'cote made publicly which were pretty insulting to unnamed players and taken the hump believing it to be about him.

No man is bigger than the club....that includes Chris Denham....but it also includes Graham Heathcote.

The extra training is a good idea....but it has to be with the players full agreement as Robbie Lawton commendably gave.

If my boss wanted everyone in for Saturday morning unpaid training sessions but I felt I didn't need it coz I was pulling my weight I'd refuse but explain why...if I was forced I'd leave.....which would leave the company one person pulling their weight short....which defeats the end object of the whole excercise and would mean everyone would have to work harder to make up my shortfall.

All I'll say on the matter is I sincerely hope Denham gets back in the team and playing again, I do not want to see him leave Altrincham!

We NEED Chris Denham in the team. If training Friday is outside of his contract terms, then he shouldn't be forced to, but as we all seem to have worked out, maybe he didn't say this in the most tactful way, and clearly GH has taken 'the hump'.

He (GH) needs to swallow his pride and get Denham on the pitch, because he's by far our best/most direct/sharpest etc. attacking option
