we *should* be beating them

I think we've all give other teams a good lesson in not saying versions of that in the last few years! ;)
Due to the new management - and money - at R&D, I can see them improving very rapidly indeed in the coming weeks.
I just hope we can get three points off them this weekend before they build up too much of a head of steam - but it's going to need a Northwich-esque attitude from the lads. I'm sure they can do it if we all get behind them again!

PS: Into my 3rd day as a non-smoker after 38 years on the weed so the last thing I need is a tense 90 minutes. It would be a great help if the lads could get two or three early on to calm me down! Ta

PPS: If anyone's got any sensible and non-sarcastic, constructive advice re the non-smoking business, I'd be grateful.

I'd rather the money went to paying off the bills QUICKER than getting in players for half a season.
I say take the Craney money as a 'Bonus' and continue as we are for this season. Let us not make the mistake of spending money we do ot have again.

You're 100% correct Gaz. Let's get totally in the black asap and take it from there. We got back to where we are now by operating within our means and we must continue to do that.

there has been a flu bug going round the squad and yesterday when we beat weymouth young midfielder paul stonehouse came on and was subbed five minutes later as he was not in the condition to play.

Well at least it's more convincing that Peakes' attack of flu.
We Robins fans tend to think that it was just "Ah-tissue" of lies!!  ;D

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: 5 points over Xmas... Happy?
« on: January 02, 2007, 02:31:50 PM »
Agree with most people that 5 points from the last three games is ok - especially due to some of the circumstances - but the Rushen game will define whether we've had a good christmas period or not.
If we can get a win in that one, bearing in mind the way the other fixtures go that day, we might finally have a bit of daylight between us and the bottom four.

COME ON YOU SUPER ROBINS!

Need to be able to get behind the bar quicker at quarter to three when the till breaks down and we're all choking for a pint - but, other than that, fine!  :D ;) ;D

Unfortunately I am not a ref.

However he was not consistant, how can you give a penalty but no other punishment?

A penalty is awarded for a foul in the penalty area.

Just as you can have fouls anywhere else on the pitch that don't warrant yellow cards, the same can be true within the penalty area.

Although that is undoubtedly true, I'm sure if someone was kicked in the face elsewhere on the pitch a yellow card would have been issued at least.

Agree with a few others here that Rodders played great when wide and that extra option of going past people was a joy to see.
My team pick would be the same side who started gainst the green gets yellow snot with Pat up front.

Come on you Super Robins - let's hope it's another three fantastic points for us today!

Be getting mine today too all being well!

co-incidently i believe this was the first year bandy established himself as a pacy striker!

I think that was in the 20's - in the General Strike!  ;)

1-0 to the mighty Robins.

That first vital away win of the season when we need it most!

See, I'm always the optimist!  ;)
