Title: Colin Little FA Cup article
Post by: Jacobs on November 05, 2008, 12:23:53 PM
This is funny - http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/s/1077858_fa_cup_special_altrincham

Some quotes include

Chris Lane - A Scouser and the team hard-nut. He's into cage-fighting and that sort of thing and does kick-boxing training. In fact, that's all he ever talks about, but I'd better not say any more in case I upset him.

Stuart -  Never stops moaning, but part of the furniture and the place wouldn't be the same without him. A top Conference keeper. Works for his father-in-law's tool-hire company. I call him Saskwatch because he's covered in hair - although, sadly for him, not on his head. Looks about 50.

LEE ELAM

Age: 32 Wide midfielder: A vastly experienced, left-sided player who's had more clubs than Nick Faldo. Has played up and down the country, so I've no idea where he actually lives - in a caravan, I expect. Hopes to move into coaching when his playing days are over

 ;D ;D ;D

DALE JOHNSON

Age: 23 Striker: Joined us from Hyde in the summer and has the potential to go even higher. Has loads of talent, but just needs to match it with the desire - and I don't mind you printing that because I've already told him to his face.

I've just been reading the newspaper version- never thought I'd see the day when the article on Alty is as big as the articles on City and United!

It's a great article, on the back of the paper Droylsden and Curzon Ashton representatives are pictured with the FA cup and the accompanying caption informs 'Altrincham who are featured on pages 50 & 51 didn't want to tempt fate and decided not to come along'.

Brilliant article lol

MATT DOUGHTY

Age: 27 Right-back. A great lad, but thick as a plank. Tells everyone he's a demolition technician which, to me, means labourer. Nicknamed Buzz, but don't ask why, I haven't a clue.
lol

It sounds like aufedersein pet but with football boots and Chris Lane as Oz. I reckon we could build a new ground from the playing staff !
