Some Shots fans travelled up on the same train as us and were amongst about a dozen who were arguing with some of our local idiots who were also throwing stones across the railway line at Altrincham station on the way back. For this reason we usually board the train at Hale. However for the second time in a few weeks the Police were called to Altrincham Railway Station after an Alty match. This gang of Shots fans got very drunk on the train on the way back. One was already so drunk he couldn't operate the toilet door from the inside and I had to kick it open for him (no damage done). Then the train didn't connect at Stockport. As the train got closer to Euston, the louder and drunker they got and annoyed the Police at Euston. Myself and my kids sat in a set of 4 seats with a Shots fan travelling alone who was in his 30's, very pleasant but only claimed to "know of" these lads. It was only as we approached Euston I asked this Shots fan what he did for a living and he replied "Policeman"!!!! He said he thought the lads knew what he did, but he doesn't go to matches to babysit them!
So you can see the fun we have travelling from the South!!!!!!
Full credit to Neil Tolson and the players today, a good performance, 4 goals, clean sheet and huge confidence boost. However, one swallow doesn't make a Summer and Aldershot were poor. We won't know who was right and wrong until the end of April, but I would bet anyone who was at Barrow, as I was, wouldn't have predicted that today and anyone who says they did, are lying. We're off the mark under Tolson, let's move on to next weekend.
Ps .. welcome both let's hope they can make an impact
Doubt it. Totally UNDERWHELMED by these signings and also think it is too late to make any difference to our plight.
my god havent most of you turned in to defeatists , thats quite ......... sad yes things dont look good but there is always a chance and tbh im surprised some of you can actually watch the football match we are apparently that bad and no one knows whats going on and its a shambles and the team is clueless the management shocking and the chairman apparently become the son of Satan ...... how about YOU ALL GET A f**kING GRIP seriously ive never seen a bigger bunch of wet arses , if you dont like the situation stop watching , you guys are becoming the male version of loose women ... end of rant
I'm a shareholder too, but likely 99% of us don't have the money to invest, however I'm pretty certain we wouldn't have had to go looking for a manager in Tesco's, Sainsbury's or wherever. There would have been a raft of them on the phone as soon as Lee Sinnott's departure was announced and I would hazard a guess a few CVs in the post as we speak, posted before Tolsons role was made permanent. This is all about giving a mate a job and nothing else.
To both my eyes.'This is an opportunity for him to carry on Lee's wonderful work. He's going to be missed at Altrincham'"
Yes, I'd say consecutive seasons of progress on the pitch counts as "wonderful work". He won us promotion and comfortably kept us in the conference national last season. I know winding people up on here is your calling in life, but I genuinely don't get the animosity you and some others on here have towards Lee Sinnott throughout his tenure? Very strange.
Enough is enough
Time for Rowley to go, he's running the club into the ground and making us a laughing stock
I can only see this getting very nasty for him, but he has very badly judged the mood.
Also reading his sickening comments, can we really trust this idiot's judgement anymore, is the club really safe in his hands?
Shareholders need to act quickly
Another legend gone this year. Remember seeing him at the Free Trade Hall in either 70 or 71 but can't recall if it was with The Nice or ELP. I have a poster somewhere which will tell me!
Nic,
This might help refresh your memory.....
