One of my bosses was chatting with me today and said that during the 1920's a prolific scorer called Dixie Dean, whilst playing for Tranmere, had to have a testicle removed from an unfortunate incident with an Altrincham centre back. After scoring 2 goals the centre back allegedly told him if he scored again he'd do him damage..
