The re-formed fan owned Merthyr Town, who operate at the same level of the pyramid as Alty, are in such a parlous financial state that most of their senior pros have quit.
Their 15 year old goalkeeper apparently made some outstanding saves at Chesham on Saturday and won MOM, but despite his heroics they lost 13-1.
Frightening !

I read an article about this on Sunday. They hope to have everything sorted out by this weekend and be able to field a normal side.

The chairman resigned yesterday along with the club treasurer.
However, the daft thing is that if the club can manage to field a scratch side for all games this season, they could be okay to stay up, if they can restructure at all in the close season. Merthyr already have 26 points, the bottom two (Dunstable Town and Gosport Borough) have got just 6 and 4 respectively, and it's only one down this season.
