Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Alty Marketing
« on: March 16, 2010, 05:15:52 PM »
This topic seems to come around every now and again, and as you'd expect from Alty fans there is always no shortage of offers from those - including me - with relevant skills / technology / contacts.

I played golf with a friend on Altrincham Municipal on Saturday afternoon, and...having recently moved to the area, he asked me how much it was to go and watch, as we could hear the crowd prior to the York game. He was quite noticeably shocked, when i delivered the "Roughly £14.00" news...

Key to any marketing activity at Alty, whether in pubs, schools, bus stations, ice rinks or whatever...is a proposition that represents clear value. The noise coming from ML on Saturday clearly attracted the interest of my mate, he was further hooked by me telling him that York would bring a big crowd, and we even do "Tikka" flavour pies!

£14.00 however, just doesn't sit with those that are not engaged with Altrincham Football Club in the way everyone on here is.

It's been said many times on here...but the free entry / £5 for subsequent games type offer is surely worth giving a whirl, in filling some of the couple of thousand spaces we have at every game.

Comments about us paying £15 each for a round at Alty, duly expected! :-D

It's not the cost of the round ... but when you were playing it - and where you should have been (you bad lad!)  ::)

Au contraire, he tells the supporters plenty. Unfortunately it's not always easy to work out just how much of it is fantasy and delusion.

That's doing him a complete disservice ... it ALL is!

1-0 to us - but we won't deserve it (according to every one in kettering/the league!)  ::)

Dino, seriously, why don't you just 'do a gunners' and stop coming on here? You really don't seem to enjoy being an Alty fan one bit.

« on: March 09, 2010, 10:06:42 AM »
Former Alty left-back Danny Adams, and striker Michael Twiss, once an Alty trialist, have joined Stalybridge Celtic -

Linking up with ex-morecambe boss JH. Looks like Stalybridge could be coming up on the rails for a play-off win. Personally, I'd like to see them beat Droylsden in the final (or, even better, Droylsden in the semi and Scouseport in the final)

Grays, Eastbourne, and Gateshead. I notice nobody's tipping the Whingeing Gloucestershire Tw*ts for the drop - I assume we all think that Peake will find them a get out clause of some sort......

Grays, FGR and Ebbsfleet hopefully (Sad, very glad, and where did all the subscribers go to? respectively)

I have a piano exam on Weds so not sure if I can make it Tues

If you're trying to match Gunner for obscurity, Roy, it's a good effort but not really in the same class  ;) (Have a 'G' for the attempt!

I'm reserving judgement on this one until I find out what the sign actually says

Apparently it was a  'plush' one outside the ground announcing forthcoming fixtures which some crawley fan on the messageboard took exception to the club spending the money on when it was so skint. The woman who resigned claimed to have paid for it however so i'm not sure what the problem is really.

I was on nights and thus was awake for 2 days solid. Had to drive there in my 'car' which was an ex post office viva van sprayed metallic blue!

The thing I remember most is the song we sung - well I sung with the three mates from work who came with me because I made it up! (which is the only way I could remember the goalscorers). There was a thread on here quite some time ago about who the scorers were and I found myself singing the song to answer the question.

The song?

Jingle bells, jingle bell, jungle all the way
oh what fun it is to watch the robins win away
(repeat)
Riding through the snow to get to rotherham
To see the super robins stick it up their bum.
Malcolm bailey scored, Barry howard got number two
And those super robins had rammed it up their flue

Oh jingle bells (etc)

It's just got to be that geezer who was ex-welsh league and a supposed welsh international but was slower than me and in his early forties. (Cult knows who I mean)

Chris Waring, I suspect?

That's the fella!

So, no current players please, although I doubt any of them come close to some of the tripe that pulled on the shirt in the unibond days.

I'll kick it off with Darryl Royle.

I know weve had a thread like this before, but its a bit of friday fun and im bored. Nothing malicious, but someone has to have been the worst so lets re-open the debate.

By the way is that a typo? Do you mean Darren? Otherwise you've named someone who was so bad that Ive blacked out the memory!  :D
