You are thinking of Earlestown in the 1963/64 season.

In more recent times: Stafford Rangers in March 2008.

I have no recollection of us losing to General Chemicals in the Cheshire Senior Cup.

I believe that we have only played them twice:

(1) 28th January 1986 at Moss Lane
Won 4-0;

(2) 21st January 1992 Away
Won 3-0.

I seem to recall that South Liverpool were a bit of a bogey side for us, regardless of their (usually lowly) league position.

We lost 6-0 at their ground back in 1970.

Didnt we play Atherton LR once in our 1st unibond season and they turned up with no kit?

That was Alfreton Town, they played in our dark blue away kit and we spanked them 5-0.

If memory serves me correct I think Alfreton were lucky to leave Moss Lane with just five conceded.  They were all over the show that day.

More recently I seem to remember games against Spennymoor being rather fruitful for the mighty robins.

Cambridge United were pretty poor when they lost 5-0 a few seasons back, they were all over the show players shrugging shoulders and looking at each other, summed it up when they were kept on pitch at full time.

Bamber Bridge at Moss Lane in the unibond years, awful, high line trying to play offsides, add to that Spennymoor !

Altrincham have always bugged me, most of the time i've thought the talent was there and when we hammered them teams above we just seemed to do everyhting right !

Stafford for me last season were the worst team I have seen for many years.

When we beat Merthyr Tydfil  9-2 in 1991 they were actually pretty good and their keeper was outstanding.  Seriously!
