I am no longer involved on the safety side but have persued this

After an incident at the end of the Altrincham v York game on Tuesday 22.02.2011 where 2 Altrincham stewards
were assaulted as a result of pictures and video evidence submitted to the police a York city fan was identified
and arrested and after taking its time going throught the justice systems he has now been given a 3 year
banning order from attending all games.

If they have been convicted of an offence in the courts then good.

I hope so. Only a month or so ago we had some fans banned via Section 14b through the civil courts despite not having been convicted of any offence.

I would say Section 14b is one of the biggest issues for football fans today in terms of human rights and the introduction of "guilt by association" whereby you can be banned from football and have to hand your passport in etc just because you were drinking in the same pub as a bunch of football hooligans.
