Title: Some incredible noises coming out of the rushden sh*t or bust meeting!!
Post by: Mrs Warbouys on May 10, 2011, 08:51:20 PM: Reading the diamonds forum with news of their big supporters meeting thats happening now, ,apparently a merger with kettering is being discussed to save both clubs in some form and keep bsp football in the area next season,and it also says keith cousins is taking legal advice as the side that finished 4th bottom are actively seeking to have rushden dismissed from the bsp....

I live a few miles from both clubs and my good friend who supports Rushden says he would never even contemplate supporting a merger between the 2 clubs. But from the forum a few people sayin they may support it to remain in bsp.

Let's hope so. I think they deserve their place more than Rushden.

They've started releasing players already though. Hanging on to see if they win the AGM Cup doesn't half make their life difficult in terms of planning for next season.

My sympathies lie with them, as for the clubs who cheat there way to surviving in whatever league there in get no sympathy at all from me, they can suffer the consequences.

Actually, I'm sure something has stuck in the back of my mind about the BSP being sick of reprieves and intending to run with fewer clubs rather than have any more. I think this went back to the last AGM or the one before that. (I may be wrong though, it could have been a proposal by a delegate).

Can anyone else help me out on this one?

I think the Chester debacle burnt their fingers - when teams don't complete their fixtures that's bad.
