The Damned Altrincham
« on: March 28, 2009, 12:46:00 AM »

All the publicity regarding the film about Brian Clough that was released today prompted me to wonder which actors would be cast in the key roles if a movie about Altrincham FC ever transpired.

Initial thoughts:

Graham Heathcote: Michael Sheen;

Geoff Goodwin: Bob Hoskins;

John King: Ricky Tomlinson;

Dalton Steele: Wesley Snipes;

Bernard Taylor: Al Pacino;

George Heslop: Brad Pitt;

Jenny Heslop: Angelina Jolie;

Hughesy: Johnny Vegas;

Gerry Berman: Danny DeVito.

Any other suggestions....?

ATS,

Actually, I had Jack Black in mind to play the gazelle.

Anyone who witnessed the gazelle flaunting his enviable physique at the Tottenham supporters at White Hart Lane back in January 1995 will surely see my reason for this particular piece of casting when they study the following image:

Paniced there i thought you said James Black

very much flattered by the jack black belly
other contenders to play my part depending on hair cut

Russell Grant... robbie Coltrane...... Bernard Manning and of course eddie large, it has been previously mentioned on here that Sid Little could play corner flag.
Least flattering offer was made to Jabbah the Hut
