Not surprised at Josh's call up to the provisional squad. He's having a great season with us.
Just noticed, however, that the 25 players comprise one player from each club in the national league plus a third keeper from Worthing.
What's all that about?

Its a nonsense, that what it is

it’s selection by committee and probably a large committee. Don’t want to upset anyone and all a bit spineless tbh. Makes a bit of a mockery of the fixture.
-
Don’t want to risk injury / exhaustion due to this match influencing title race so one from each club keeps it “fair” in terms of league impact with everyone having so many games
-
Mental decision to put the game on during the run-in.
-
Is this part of a competition, or a friendly with a fancy name?
-
The latter, I believe.
-
Yeah not idea to have 1 of every player but Josh, Issac, Lewis Baines all would be worth candidates (as would Tyrese Sinclair)
-
I always thought this thing was an U23 competition (like the Olympics), no idea where I got that one from...?
Might make it more interesting if it was - I know they do that with the Olympics so it doesn't impact the other international competitions as much.
As commented elsewhere, the timing of this fixture couldn't be any more ridiculous - especially with someone like Langstaff being involved for Notts.
Shame really, as it's a great advert for us in general if it's being held at our place.
Congratulations and well deserved to Josh on his inclusion.

Not wrong at all. That was certainly the case when there was a tournament, but I don't think that necessarily applied to the England-Wales friendly which did not have to follow those rules.
The Cymru C team only seem to select players who play in the Welsh domestic system, otherwise Eddy and James Jones would both have had a good shout for being selected.
-
The selection criteria do seem to vary from country to country. Didn't Gibraltar used to play pretty much a full "national" team?

Wrexham under represented ironically facing Wales!😁

Thats a fairly detailed prediction for the game? worth a bet
