Chester City minus 25 points?
« on: August 06, 2009, 11:00:18 AM »

Chester City will reportedly start the new season on minus 25 points.

I don't think it's official yet but I understand it's been reported in the Liverpool Echo this morning.

They are in BIG trouble!

By Saturday and before we've even kicked a ball, it looks like we won't have to worry about filling one of those relegation spots as they'll already be sorted !

I predict we'll finish 14th  :)

I get the impression things are not working out.

I think it could be a league of 23 clubs not 24 this year.

Hope I am wrong though.

I think Grays might appreciate an announcement of some sort before Saturday!

Talk about leaving it 'til the last minute!

There are budgetary issues with losing a game too, not least for us as Chester could be our biggest gate of the season.

Chester is a great place, far too expensive but still a great day out. I hope they survive. There are a lot of clubs i would prefer to see die than Chester.

The local evening paper here is leading with a 25 point deduction.
BSN for Chester next season!!

Grimsby Town website seems to indicate -25 but who knows until it is confirmed.

As much as I hate to see this for Chester on the plus side for us it means only 3 relegation places to play for.

Would love to see them survive and the likes of Crawley, FGR to get relegated instead.

Confirmed www. skysports.com

Chester City have been deducted 25 points ahead of the Conference Premier season, but the club will play against Grays this weekend.

The club's future has come under threat since The Football Association refused their application for affiliation.

The FA raised a number of concerns after the Vaughan family resumed control of the club after a spell in voluntary financial administration.

Chester were already facing a ten point deduction result of going into liquidation and that punishment has been increased to 25 points.

It means Chester face a massive battle to stay in the Conference Premier this season, but they will at least now carry out their fixtures.
