« on: March 10, 2009, 11:53:13 AM »
Tim Sills and Iyesden Christie are both out injured tonight according to Torquay's official website. This is great news for us - let's hope we're back to our best and we have a real go at them from the start!

Altrincham FC First Team / Staff v Supporters game
« on: March 06, 2009, 11:00:10 PM »
From official site:

STAFF v SUPPORTERS

The Altrincham FC Staff v Supporters' fixture this year will give those playing the chance to run out at Moss Lane for a Saturday kick-off at 3pm; the date is May 4th. Vice-chairman Grahame Rowley is putting together a 16-man squad and the bargain price to be a member of it is just £25; kit (except boots) is provided.

May 4th is a Monday, in fact it's May Day Bank Holiday. Therefore, either the above day or date is wrong.

Altrincham FC First Team / Grays thoughts & predictions
« on: March 06, 2009, 12:20:32 PM »
I think this will be a very close game. We've been playing well despite the last couple of results and Grays will be better than their league position suggests. I think if Graham sticks to his guns and adopts a similar approach to the last two games we will reap the rewards in the coming weeks. I honestly believe our lack of goals is a confidence thing and if we could just score 2 or 3 in one game it would do us the power of good.

Anyway, prediction for tomorrow:

Grays 1-2 Alty
Thurgood   Little
                  Johnson
Att: 658

Come on you reds!

Altrincham FC First Team / Reserve derby at Moss Lane tonight
« on: February 26, 2009, 12:59:36 PM »
Hopefully this will attract a decent crowd and generate a bit of income at the snack bar/noel white suite.

Just a thought: neither City or United are playing on Saturday so maybe it would be a good idea to give a list of forthcoming Alty fixtures to everyone on the gate as they come in? I'm sure a few would come along to Moss Lane rather than get dragged round the shops on Saturday afternoon! :)

Altrincham FC First Team / Big month coming up!
« on: February 25, 2009, 12:50:29 PM »
March is shaping up to be a very big month if you look at the fixture list (league games only):

Kettering (a)
Grays (a)

Then:

Torquay (H)
Weymouth (H)
Forest Green (H)
Crawley (H)

This run of 4 consecutive home games, all of which are winnable, could launch us to safety well before Easter is upon us, and that would make for such an enjoyable last month of the season!

Altrincham FC First Team / Who in their right mind would do this?
« on: February 11, 2009, 11:13:44 PM »
"Rushe says all that stands between his consortium and buying the Marston’s Arena is for a lending company in London to agree to loan him the £1.5m needed to complete the purchase. It’s not like I am asking for money to buy a car or a house, it’s £1.5m so it’s just a case of jumping through hoops, doing everything they ask of us and hopefully it will all come right in the end... Companies are wary of lending to football clubs so they ask for much more information than usual which is why it’s taking so long"."

Who would lend £1.5m to a club that won't even fork out £3k in gate receipts to another club?? The world's gone mad!

Altrincham FC First Team / Saturday home games
« on: February 08, 2009, 11:08:24 PM »
By the time we next play at home on a Saturday (on 21st Feb against Woking) it will have been over two months since our last Saturday home game!

Considering the importance of matchday income to our club, it just illustrates how much of a struggle it must have been lately!
