Altrincham FC First Team / We can approach Saturday with renewed optimism
« on: September 08, 2009, 09:58:25 PM »
However depleted our squad is we can go into Saturday's game believing we can get all three points. The lads did themselves proud tonight and it also makes me confident that once our squad returns to full futness we can really have a good season.

I'm well pleased tonight!  :)

I obviously can't comment directly on the performance of the team on Saturday as I wasn't there. However, I'd just like to say it's great to see Graham setting his standards high and laying it on the line to the players like this.

I'm sure tomorrow will see a marked improvement and it will be interesting to hear how the new lads get on.

We can win tomorrow!  :)

Absolutely brilliant! Saw them on Saturday and I'm really impressed.

The images and overall quality are absolutely top-notch and at £9.99 it really is superb value for money. From what I undersatand there is a fairly limited run of these so make sure you get yours asap!

From the official website:

"Kettering Town manager Mark Cooper has urged more fans to come and support his side at home. The Poppies, currently sixth in Blue Square Premier, are expecting a big away support from Luton on Saturday. 'At the minute we seem to be getting outnumbered by away fans and that's not right', Cooper told BBC Northampton. 'I just hope that we start getting a few more Kettering fans coming to the arena and giving the players the support they deserve'. "

Maybe the locals just object to the rip off prices you're trying to charge them?

Altrincham FC First Team / Gravesend Reporter

World's rudest newspaper! I can only assume their sports reporter is one of those plebs who chant basic things at the opposition before they even get behind their own team.

He certainly has no idea what he's on about!

Altrincham FC First Team / Chester City minus 25 points?
« on: August 06, 2009, 11:00:18 AM »
Chester City will reportedly start the new season on minus 25 points.

I don't think it's official yet but I understand it's been reported in the Liverpool Echo this morning.

They are in BIG trouble!

AUSSIES RETURN TO MOSS LANE

Members of the Australian cricket squad are expected to be at Moss Lane next Tuesday for the visit of a Manchester United XI (k.o.7.45pm, 4th August). They will attend as guests of Altrincham FC chairman Geoff Goodwin. On their tour in 2005 Altrincham FC were honoured to receive the full Australian squad to a pre-season match at Moss Lane, the visitors including the likes of Shane Warne, Ricky Ponting and Jason Gillespie. Next Tuesday's match is free to Alty season ticket holders and costs £7 for those paying at the turnstile, (£2 for concessionaries).

---------

We need to use the novelty aspect of this friendly to our full advantage as it's a prime opportunity to get people into our club and make some much needed money. Also, everyone who comes in should be given a leaflet with our early home fixtures on it at the turnstiles. There are no Premier League games until 15th August which means there will be plenty of people with no game to go to on 8th August. Let's try and get some of them down to Moss Lane!!
