Please read carefully as there are several changes to a normal match day. Which will be on council insistence and this is a price of a growing club

Having digested the arrangements I fully support the plan. I'll be in the John King Golf Road End. No access to either the pop side or fan zone but I fully understand the rationale behind this decision. COYR.
-
I'll be in the main stand in the commode seating.
-
A realistic chance of having 4000 plus home fans in the ground for the first time in over 40 years ?
-
How many home fans were at the Guiseley playoff?
-
Works for me.
Just hope we sell all our tickets
-
How many home fans were at the Guiseley playoff?
The crowd was 4632 with around 900 Guiseley fans
-
No problem with any of that.
As an aside I didn't get scanned by the metal detectors at York. Did anyone else?

I had my bag searched and tagged. I didn't get scanned though.

Nor did I. I had even managed to attract the attention of a steward as the person in front in the queue was having problems scanning their ticket, but my request for help was answered with a mouthed response which seemed to end in "off",
I am sure the stewards for the semi-final will be more helpful and professional and, yes, we do need arrangements like those described for a big crowd.

I hope the club - if the uptake is only 3.5k starts giving more the Halifax.

What was the capacity for the sell out Wrexham game?
-
I believe it was 5000 but we didn't quite make it. I assumed that was due to a few season ticket holders not turning up (just my guess)
-
Shouldn't they be on general sale now? Nothing on the website yet :-\

I think for the whole ground.

sorted ........ticket No 1173

1500 now Apparently

I cant find a link that works on the clubs website. It still says details TBC for that game and clicking it doesn't do anything useful.
Is anyone else having problems?
-
Here is the link - I hope this works for you:
https://altrinchamfc.com/products/isuzu-fa-trophy-semi-final-altrincham-v-fc-halifax-town
Ticket numbers are for the whole home end. Do not include tickets given to FC Halifax Town
-
Thanks Bill,
I can confirm that the link works
-
Curious to know what number we're up to after the first full day.
-
1787, apparently.

Hi there, for those in exile, will the match be televised? Cheers folks.

Hi there, for those in exile, will the match be televised? Cheers folks.
As far as I'm aware, only the final is televised. It was quite an ordeal for the National League to sort out a streaming deal this season so I suspect it's unlikely the FA will have put anything in place to stream Trophy matches. Maybe next year?
-
Just bought my ticket , number 2032
-
The Wrexham game was streamed in the trophy here via Wrexham TV. I'm not saying we should put the effort in if it's not worth it but I'd sure be one of the few glad it was shown.
-
Tks a mill. There's always Radio Robins I guess. It's great to be able to keep up to date from afar.

Good point. Does suggest that rights aren't an issue. Still may be tricky domestically given it's a 3pm KO.
-
Wrexham game was moved due to the derby (Allegedly) not for TV - which then opened the door for Wrexham to broadcast.
PS. I'm buzzing every time I see the title of this thread. 6 years ago this Saturday, a group of us walked out in protest at the current management of the club... Look at us now.
-
I often look back at old Alty TV videos and look at the empty seats and terraces. I note the attendance, who we played and let that sink in whilst I look at where we are now.
Thank you to those who appointed Phil and Neil.
Thank you to the best management team we've had in decades.
It's ace being an Alty fan!

There are no restrictions for international streaming at 3pm, it's a domestic rule. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to watch 3pm kick offs every week on viasport here in NL.
I really don't think there is a restriction to stream the game beyond the human/technical costs of doing it. Those are more than acceptable reasons for a club of our size on the busiest match day in recent history.
Still though, if someone wants to point a camera at the ball and stream it somehow I'd pay for sure.
-
;D
-
I know it was already 2500 by Thursday eve so hopefully approaching 3k by now. Granted I did think today another 2k on top of this will be a tight fit next Saturday.
-
I think there were more in than stated today. I wondered if the season ticket holders friends got in under the radar.
-
Certainly seemed more than 318 in the away end
Wonder if there is a trend to under report the away support especially as there was certainly more that 663 of us for the Trophy game at York
-
Positive we wouldn't do that but there's lots of other clubs I wouldn't put it past.

I can confirm factually that there were 318 in the away end - there were plenty of gaps if you looked from the right angle, and the Southend fans weren't that tightly bunched up. When we see 900 Halifax fans in the Scoreboard end next week we will see the difference, and we will also see if the away end is capable of holding more.
similarly with the Gold Road End - 1350 sounds alot, but I believe it can safely hold more, but the capacity has to be capped due to crap terrace design and limited ability to put in crush barriers as a result.
The club does not under report attendances, though it seems possible that other clubs may do.
-
318 looked right to me. Also lots of empty space on the pop side second half. Even for the Wrexham league game, some parts weren't rammed.
-
Anyone bought a ticket recently to give us an idea of what number we're up to?
-
Just looked. Last ticket sold was number 2977.
-
Hiw are halifax getting on , did they sell out?

Also
The J.Davidson Stadium is set to be a sell out this Saturday for our FA Trophy Semi-Final versus FC Halifax Town.
Supporters who wish to attend the fixture are advised to buy early, with the Golf Road terrace already over 95% sold out. Hospitality is also now sold out for this fixture, which will remain All Ticket, with no cash purchase on the day of the game.
Movement around the stadium is restricted, with home supporters needing to choose the section of the stadium they wish to sit/stand.
No cash sales either..

TBH since they put 956 tickets on sale on 17 March and grumbled at the time the home club had only given them that many, I'm amazed they still have tickets left. It's only about an hour away!

If you go on Halifax website you can still buy tickets. That's just now.
-
Their attitude with the tickets doesn't surprise me. They are one of a reasonably small group of former EFL Clubs bouncing around the NL/NLN achieving very little and whose fans have become infected with an arrogant disregard for non-league football and the FA Trophy.
As well as FC Halifax their number also includes Chester, York, Hereford and Torquay and there are a number of others possibly heading the same way. One notable exception is Darlo whose fans have had a lot to put up with and have, in my opinion, retained their dignity.

Not one news article about this match after a quick Google search :o

Golf Road and Main Stand full. Just Pop left now.
-
Very encouraging. Educated guess I think we’ve now sold around 3500 home tickets so hopefully can push towards 4k home fans in the remaining 2 days.
-
looking forward to the game, but not a full moss lane. this ground is not suitable for crowds of this size.

We had space for over 1,000 more (and a sterile area) for Wrexham which is around 500. The crowd will be fine.

selling tickets for designated terraces will go a long way to stop overcrowding.
-
I agree. Problems about coping with large crowds must surely be preferable to not being able to attract them?!
-
Tell you what's mint. People asking for spares.
The next step to be massive is half and half scarves in town centre, and programe sellers/burger vans on Moss Lane.
2x Sell Outs in a season, where we're midtable is superb.

Halifax fan here, I don't think we will sell out, the apathy around the club is painful at the moment, and not even the prospect of a Wembley appearance looks like changing anyone's minds. It also doesn't help that we were at Wembley a few seasons back. Even if we won on Saturday, I couldn't imagine more than a few thousand attending.
On our forum, Alty have been held up as a beacon of a club on the way up. While with our Chairman we feel like we are are on a downward trajectory.

Hello Aussie and a warm welcome to our forum.I see where you're coming from. It's 1986 since we last had a day out at Wembley and many of our fanbase weren't old enough to be there. We are also aiming sometime to be a football league club something NONE of us has experienced.
That's two things many of your fans have tasted and experienced.
I always enjoy a trip to the Shay and especially a pre match jar or two in the three pigeons.
If you're in Alty earlier enough to explore the town centre you'll find us a friendly bunch by and large. If you're at the ground closer to kick off The George pub a few minutes walk from the away end welcomes away fans. Enjoy the game but don't spoil our day please 🥺

Halifax’s forum reminds me a bit of Southport’s legendarily moaning & negative ‘Port Chat’ which if Parky & Jordan H think this place is bad they’d have a heart attack if they read that.

We are really plateauing, especially off the field.
Our chairman is a nice enough guy and probably underwrites the club to a small amount every season. However he doesn't ever seem to
Be proactive at all, and negates offers of help or refuses to do even the basics like online ticketing or even a club shop. Along with a poor season on the pitch, it's not looking great for us.

Yes, we've always been bemused at away end being cash-only on the gate. Quite bizarre at this level in 2023.

I don't get ANY 50/50 scarf. When you take a kid to their first game they can have a home scarf or nothing. If they want a souvenir they can have a programme. Never thought the match scarf nonsense would have caught on.
-
I used to slag them off but I do understand them now.
They are a souvenir/memory of a big game.
Some people have displays etc with them.

-
As predicted, I don't think we will sell out. We aren't doing online sales anymore and you can only pick up or purchase till 7pm tonight. Someone posted a couple of hrs ago they had ticket 740. It's the clubs own fault for such apathy at our end. Such a shame really, as in the past we would have sold this out quite easily.
-
You do seem to have a very convoluted ticketing process. Have to say, other Halifax fans sound a bit more up for it, judging by Twitter remarks.

That's part of the apathy. A chairmen who isn't willing to get with the times or take any advice/help from the fans.
If you want to see the apathy I'm talking about, then visit our forum 🤦♂️.

Bottom of Moss Lane still closed off for the resurfacing work as I came home at 6.30 this evening. That's a bit inconvenient for tomorrow, unless they are planning to finish the work in the morning.

I see for the other SF Gateshead are only on 2400 sold & that will include 500ish Barnet fans. Granted they have always been a poorly supported team but just goes to show how well we’ve done. Hope we can get as near to 5k as possible tomorrow.
-
I wonder how many we would have taken to Halifax, would we have crossed the 1000 mark?
-
Good question. The 700 to York meant I’d have been confident of at least 1000 at ‘Fax, maybe a bit more. Presume with their cavernous ground as well everyone could have just paid on the day (cash only, of course) & they would have opened that large terrace behind the goal to our right for us. Luckily not something we had to contemplate.
-
I wonder how many we would have taken to Halifax, would we have crossed the 1000 mark?
We took 7-800 to York and I believe we'd have comfortably doubled (or even trebled) that at Halifax.
-
I don't think so. You're getting to excited. 800 core supporters, maybe a few more for Halifax but not 1500

We'd have taken 1500 to Halifax, if given 1500 for Halifax.
If Halifax had been given more, then people would have travelled. But as soon as it went capped, non hardcore would assume they aint gettinf a ticket

As a rough guide, we took over 1200 to Chorley for the playoff Semi a few years ago. I don't think 1500 would be too many for us at our current level of support.
-
I think a playoff semi in Chorley is bigger than a trophy semi on the other side of the hills. Most casual supporters probably don't even know where Halifax is. :D

But the club sends congratulations to the visiting club. Away fans throw flares,, pull the netting during penalties and invade the pitch at the end.vStill, they were on the ball telling people if their heels were on the yellow hatched are at the golf road so good to know they're gainfully employed. Bitter all round tonight.
