This guy deserves all the praise. Week in week out he carries the team and is a pleasure to watch. Certainly wouldn’t begrudge him a move in January, he’s far too good for us.

I’m surprised the top teams in this league haven’t been asking about him. He is on a different wavelength to most of our players.

If we lose him in January then we really are going to be in trouble.

Watched Alty for around 35 years. He would be in my best 11 Alty players of all time.
He is so good.

There were a few perplexing decisions last night.

Fully understood why Newby, Marriott and Jennings started. Feel for Cooper getting dropped, but with J. Jones showing improvement i sort of get it. Thought he might have put Baines in for E. Jones even given his lack of pace.

Was scratching my head as why Conn-Clarke played out wide and Newby as the 10 and not the other way round.

Throw ins are appalling. Don't mind switching corner routines round, but we're more likely to concede from a corner than score

You raise a couple of good points here - why did CCC and Newby start that way round?

Also, how often do we try to take a 'clever' corner / free kick - we completely cock it up - and the ball never makes it into the box?

With regard to Ryan, I've still never quite understood why he plays for us.

It say's tons about Ryan's character and the mutual trust with the management team that he is still here  . Without him we would probably be well adrift at the bottom by now. He will surely move on in the summer and how we go about replacing him , whatever division we are in , is anyones guess.

I just hope that we don't do what we did with Joel Senior, selling him midseason to avoid him leaving on a free.

Ryan Colclough is worth more to us staying for the season and leaving on a free, than the nominal fee we would receive for the remainder of his contract.

Where is Joel Senior these days?

Sorry, wrong Senior!

That lad is worth the entrance fee just to watch him. Another superb performance tonight. Well done Ryan. 👏👏👏

Showler was special, but as the game has developed with improvement of players and the opposition , he is the best left winger/forward I have seen at Alty. Better than Ellison who was consistent.

Rather than debating why is he here / when will he leave etc. etc. another way of looking at it is, if we want to progress up the league we need to attract and keep more players similar to Ryan Colclough's contribution across other positions in the team.
