Title: Hereford - Match Thread
Post by: Mrs Warbouys on November 13, 2019, 09:24:24 PM
Alty 19/20
Draw 13/5
Hereford 21/10

First of four very import games before our FA cup distraction. Looking at his reaction on Sunday I cannot imagine ceesay being available which will be a massive miss for us. We really need to put points on the board in these three quick fire league games

No doubt Ceesay is a big loss, but his absence is the only way Hulme starts.

Huge games coming up between now and Portsmouth.

Alty 2-0 Hereford.

Is there any news on the pitch? Many areas round about are waterlogged.

I heard the pitch had been aerated since the last postponement, it has made a huge difference apparently to the speed the pitch drains. So hopefully will be playable. If Ceesay is injured, then in comes Jordan with Tom to the wing I guess.

Thanks Alty Dave.

Ceesay pulled up fairly dramatically at York. He was distraught so I'm guessing it is more than a slight pull

Weather set fair, what an incredible length of time we haven’t played at home for, up the lads

Second best for the first 15 then bossed it.

My mom was Williams and special mention to Malarkey who superb with little game time behind him.

As Darlington lost 5-1 today I suspect we'll score 7 on Tuesday

How did Wall do today? And where was Peers?

Peers has refused to play unless BC cameras are there.

Ethier that or a slight groin strain

Wall did very well. Got some decent crosses in, tracked back OK and almost scored with a fantastic left foot volley that their keep made a fabulous fingertip save to tip round the post, would have been goal of season contender.
Looked very leggy with 15 mins to go and came off. Good debut but just as well because Ceesay is out for 3/4 months.
Tom has a slight groin niggle and wasnt risked today, maybe ok tuesday but deffo by next weekend.

If we score a technically better goal this season than Shaun Densmore's today I will be amazed. Bursting to see it again on Robins TV.

I'd justed texted Hash to say we wouldn't win when we scored those two quick goals. Hereford basically folded from then, apart from the first few minutes of the second half (obvs had their arses kicked by the manager). I think they're a better side than they showed today, which makes our win even more outstanding.

Any news on Tom Hannigan ?

Tom has a slight back/glute strain. He could run o.k. bit felt it when stretching. Didn't want to make it worse. Might be o.k. for Tuesday, should be fine for Saturday.

Thanks....appreciate the update.......Tom an essential part of the club at the moment........need a song for him before his 93rd minute winning header at Fratton Park that takes us to Old Trafford in January

What Darlington did is irrelevant. We play Gateshead on Tuesday, and they'll be fresh from their free weekend.

Thanks Stan. Fabulous bit of skill from Jordan, and his interview reveals the whole story.

For a view from the other side, my boss is a Hereford supporter, and he attended Saturday's game, although he walked out, like some other away supporters, with 10 minutes to go. ;D
He was particularly impressed with JJ, and thought we looked very dangerous on the break, with Jordan Hulme obviously a decent striker, although we did look a little vulnerable at the back. I can't remember the word he used to describe the Hereford defence, but it was pretty damning, possibly "ponderous", and he thought that both clubs were in a false position - Altrincham too low, Hereford too high.
Apart from the leaving early, I can't disagree.
PS I still have a job!

I can't get over how bad their defence is - they were all over the shop.

Sadly I doubt Jordan and JJ will get that much joy against many other outfits this season
