« on: October 15, 2009, 04:09:59 PM »

I missed the 1-1 at spurs and the 3-0 at home to sheff utd...also missed the 6-1 thrashing by burnley and the 2-1 defeat at L Orient.

went to the replay and first game respectively but was at everton (both), liverpool, birmingham, rotherham, spurs second time, york all 3 times, sC**thorpe home and away, wigan home, crewe home and L Orient home....what have I missed?

My first season was the everton match so missed anything before that obviously.

Only 3rd round game missed (inc Wolves!) was the Everton replay at OT. I was in Crumpsall hospital holding My (then) Wife's hand as our eldest daughter made her appearance into the world.

How pleased I am to have started watching this club in 1987.  Did I miss much?

I wasn't ecstatic at missing the Darlington 2003 game cos I was at Trafford and finding I'd been dropped to the 3rd team. Don't ask!

Went to Spurs away both times. I wasnt drunk the first time though. The second time i nearly got thrown out for running in the pitch when we scored (damn foul throw my arse).

I didn't even get to celebrate that goal as I saw the linesman's flag go up straight away.  :(

After Constable had planted it in the frigging net !

I was a 14 year old wreck for 5 seconds  :(

Liverpool - I went down with flu the day before. I even went to casualty at Wythenshawe during the night in hope of miraculous quick fix. I was off work for 2 weeks. I hardly missed a game that season.

I saw it too. I wish I hadn't. Those 5 seconds would have been immense. The disappointment after couldn't have been that much more crushing than when I saw it go up originally surely?

People don't believe me either when I tell them but we had Spurs absolutely on the rack at that point. I'm sure if it had stood we'd have pegged it back to 2-2 regardless of what would have happened after. Gerry Francis knew it as well.

The report in the Telegraph said that when the ball hit the back of the net the Spurs players, as one, paled - they were scared!

I too saw the flag before the goal and missed out on those great 5 seconds.  The Spurs players were so keen to point it out to the ref, the urgency of their complaining gave away just how worried they were.
