Right.....

Some terrible defending, followed by missed chances. I am not saying it was good by any stretch of the imagination but its not as bad as it has been.

To be honest some bad personal displays especially Marshall.  Too many no shows...

But if Marshall had been where he should be in the middle of an orthodox back four alonside Havern........

Agreed, it didnt work but too many errors that should not happen regardless of where they are playing.

...but surely the point is that errors are far more likely if you ask players to play in positions they are unaccustomed to playing in? Minimise the chance of errors by playing people in their strongest positions where possible.

I suppose that's what we tried to do at first with 3 at the back, and that sounds like it was a shambles.

By trying to accommodate a certain player (who appears rusty at the very least) at all costs.

No one knew where they were playing or who they were marking etc, one of the all time terrible defeats, because make no bones about it, they were makeshift tonight and should have been given a hiding, scored four and should have scored eight, but a defensive and midfield  shambles

It sounded like a reverse Kevin Keegan strategy "If we score 4 we'll let you score 5"

Similar situation at centre half as if too many staff on at work. If we are overstaffed less work seems to get dome as everyone seems to leave the work for everyone else.  I just wonder if the 3 at the back were simply relying on the others to do the work.

Hi Jamie, no excuse pal just giving the view of someone who saw it first hand. In relation to Marshall he was still playing centre back just of a three so....
