I honestly can't believe how Burton are allowed to do this, why in the name of sanity can't they get their own stewards like everyone else does. Its hardly like United and City playing at home on the same day is it?

I smell another conference rat!

In addition to this debacle, crawley signed yet another player last week, another joke that rambles on to the frustration of the good people of alty.

Would i be outspoken and foolish if i suggested that burton get special treatment? They seem to have the conference signature ground (staging everything from playoff finals to an official fart), make up their own playing times and opitimise everything the conference stands for nowadays (financial black holes filled by mercenary investors).

This is no slur on Burton fans, on the whole they are a dedicated bunch, but as a club their support (financial and "political") doesn't seem to match their success!

I agree its important we stay in this league, but I'm asking myself how things got to be such a joke!

It seems Crawley's situation has a moules deflector fitted as even the " we manufactured administration to get rid of the contracts" statement flew right under the rules radar.

It seems they've got it in for Halifax whose empty unfinished stand must be knocked down...this would make it a 3 sided ground which is illegal....good news is Halifax will be buying the son of STAR Trek shield as used so succesfully by Oxford.

I think the £1.5 million quid off Man Utd will have helped their finances. Given their investment in the club you can't complain about someone investing in Burton. The stewarding issue and sharing with Derby, doesn't it make sense to save a few bob? Even if they are the most nazified of them all?

Crawley is an altogether different kettle of fish.

We could save a few quid by playing mid week matches at 3pm thereby not having to turn on the floodlights whichw e could then sell to dave pace...but that'd be really tinpot.

I agree with you, investment isn't a bad thing, and Burton have been worth their wares with 1.5 million. But how far does that go? New ground, expensive squad, high overheads (other than squad) etc etc? Its not like burton will guarentee another man u every few years, theyre not in the league yet, no guarentee they will be. To me its mercenary investment, will they still be there in 4 years when the club feels more like a burden? even being in the league won't help (see rushden and kiddy fiddlers), cant last forever.

My point is rich, their investment has been good for the club, and much more efficient than most in the conference. But if we can muster sewards, and decent ones at that, why cant they? money saving is bollocks, we wrote the book in this league and stewards aren't a big chapter.

Do they get special treatment? In my opinion, yes. Do Crawley? Yes, fact! Is the conference corrupt? Does Moules sh*t in the woods!

My synical view is that we are forced to play on a Friday to disrupt us being part time?

I hope we turn them over  ;)

Sounds to me like Burton/Conference* are bull***tters!

*Delete as applicable

What happens if there is some trouble or accident at Burton and all the stewards are at Derby County? Who is responsible; Burton or Conference?
