I found this article on the Alfreton Forum quite interesting.

The most interesting bit for me was Alfreton spending £3000 on safety for a home game against nuneaton due to police advice. Yet we spent no money on police or addition stewards for the Chester game which saw 10 times the amount of travelling fans - something there doesn't add up.

Either way, the amount of money spent on safety is staggering, and it once again reinforces how grateful we should be for our wonderful volunteer stewards who continue to keep  the cost of hosting matches to a minimum.

We did spend money on extra stewards, ten from Chester.

Whilst we have all talked about lessons for the club from last week I hope there was also a lesson for the local police as well.
