In a long time.
Very lucky but you earn luck. Shaun Densmore with some intelligence to lay it up for Pooole.
Warrington clearly up for it against us.
-
My opinion but disagree. Heavy pitch and against very well organised Warrington team who recently knocked out a team from the National League. I personally thought we played well and second half it was attack after attack. We do need to make changes in Poole and Moult, defo need more energy in midfield as Richman is having to run for two people. Harrop and Richman would boss midfields in this league. Hancock as number 10 for Poole who simply is not doing enough.
-
I've not had a bad thing to say about PP, but that'sthe 3rd time i've now seen Warrington's full backs play our lightweight wingers out of the game. Might I suggest we try something else when we play other top sides.
I never ever say things like this, but I really hope their number 5 is out for a while. His challenge on JJ was appalling.
It was a draw like a win today. Warrington, are in my opinion, the best of the rest and they appear tohave the measure of us.
We didn't play well and got away with it. Hampson was our best player.
-
Grantham are a real danger
-
We were well below par... closed down a lot so our passing went all over the place most of the game - credit to Warrington on that part at least for their energy in closing us down.
As a match to watch it was poor because Warrington scored after 19 minutes and then became content to close us down and timewaste, plus ref insisted on giving lectures to any player he could. Can't remember a game being as stop-start as that.
At least we kept going, showed decent team spirit and some great scenes when we finally forced the equaliser.
Our 2 centre backs did well, think James Jones got Alty man of match.

Stafford away was more stop and start but I do agree that he was a poor ref.
I think we need to give our players credit. Warrington are no easy opposition. I've been to all the games against them and I am impressed with how solid they are.
-
Firstly, got to give Warrington credit, that's the 4th game they've frustrated us and pressed us all over the pitch. Game's like this we really need a bit of magic which there was precious little of. Much better 2nd half, more urgency and Harrop looks to make things happen. Don't why Johnson did play on the left in the 2nd half or why Miller came on before Peers. Jones Hampson we class.
Can't see the pitch holding up to 3 games in 8 days.
-
In our last promotion season the only team who really had the measure of us were Telford. Is it just coincidence that Tony Grey played for them as well ?
-
I thought a draw was a fair result.
when we play at home whilst on a heavy pitch I would leave JJ on the bench
he is like a horse that is best on top of the ground going and the heavy going really negates his type/style of play.
discipline and the heavy pitch will (imho) determine whether we win this league. far too many bookings, Richman and Hulme are becoming a liability in the discipline aspect and we certainly can't win the league with those two suspended.
Great to see a decent crowd in Moss Lane today...
onwards and upwards

Wow, big statement. What is classed as a 'long time'. From my limited memory, Stafford first game of the season was much worse and that was only six months ago.

Stafford was a better performance
-
Warrington are miles better than Stafford. So it wasn't anywhere near as bad as Stafford
-
So 'long time' means? Have you a game, in particular, that sticks out as worse, so is the yardstick?
-
I can certainly think of a fair few worse performances at Moss Lane last season.

We had some shots against stafford, the goals killed us at key points in that game.
Today I don’t remember a shot in the second half troubling their keeper
-
i
reckon its a fair result...we cant steamroller this league...theres some good teams and theres also some dog and duck teams
up to 80 mins id have taken a draw
we are still top and lets not get cocky
-
Clearly Pooles goal in second half troubled the keeper.
There was at least one before it he beat out.
They certainly had NO shots second half, one in the first on target.
Warrington came to frustrate, had a game plan, the pitch helped them and it nearly worked. We showed in my opinion great character to secure a point, a very important one that meant they did not gain any points back on us. The team deserve some credit for this in my opinion.

Hampson right footer produced a decent save.
-
I don't remember tony having to make a save either.
Warrington were fit and ran like greyhounds and helped by a fussy ref broke up our play....i'm not worried about them they'll go and lose 3-0 to barwell next week....they're just one of those difficult sides we struggle against....
We need to be more direct against these hard working well organised sides and when they score fist it's going to be difficult to break them down when they park the bus and time waste so great credit to the lads for keeping going to the very end to secure a title winning point!
The two teams to worry about are Grantham and shaw lane.....but we have their fate in our hands, we just don't lose to them...in fact we can lose to shaw lane once as long as we beat them once....
come on your red and white bastards!!!
-
Amazing fighting spirit to keep going right to the end.
Warrington are really well organised and chase down everything all the time
-
We didn't lose so dust ourselves down and move on. I can remember our great side of the late 70's early 80's rarely beat Northwich but we beat everyone else so in the greater scheme of things it didn't matter
-
It was only in the last 15 minutes we managed to get any momentum going. Warrington expertly slowed things down helped by a ref who wanted a five minute chat to explain every booking.
I think Jake will be disappointed with their goal because he turned his back on the shot. Similarly their goalie will be disappointed with the second but a draw was a fair result.

What do you class as a long time? I wasn't there today but surely it can't have been any worse than the majority of home games last season?!

Stafford was worse by a mile.

Stafford seems worse to many as it was opening day, we expected to turn up and win.
We played some decent football in parts in that game. We played very little football yesterday.
