The change in fortunes since the 'open letter' Parky issued - what do people think? Purely coincidence and a result of other factors, or does it have any bearing? My thoughts are, as always, results are a consequence of multiple factors. But the change in tone from that letter must have had one effect, and he's as much as said so in his interview post-match (we're not where we thought we were, etc.). I'm just hoping that we can turn this round with these home games if we don't then that letter will look even more hubristic than it does this morning.

This is the pits isn't it? A leisure league standard astro, a hoof ball unit and a brain fart to lose a man

Wasn't last night Marriott's fifth booking? Meaning he'd be out this weekend?

I sort of understand tempering expectations when we're on a good run, which inevitably can't go on forever. But I did find the overegging of the Oldham side this week a bit absurd. They may well have once been seconds away from a cup final, but they're currently what they appeared to be yesterday - a mediocre Conference side waiting for the new manager to sort them out. Still thought we did enough to win, had we taken a chance or two.

Yeah that answer to the corner question is just a load of hoary old drivel, unfortunately. Saying it every week doesnt make it true.

There are no losses, only learnings.

There absolutely has to be some reflection on the way we are set up and coached defensively. A couple of months ago Parky mentioned that we don't practise set pieces, rather the 'information is given to the players' (or words to that effect). As, admittedly, an amateur on this topic that stuck me as a nonsense, and despite protestations, it's clear we cannot defend set pieces. Individually we've got a group of defenders who have all, at one time or another, played well for us. I just cannot see how the absolutely horrendous defensive record this season is anything other than a reflection on decisions made when it comes to how we are coached and set up. I'm obviously totally happy to be told otherwise, but 4 clean sheets in 45 league games cannot be due purely to errors and lapses in concentration.

Needs to be some degree of change over the summer if we want to be a stable top half side next year. I'd love to hear more about the rationale behind not practising set pieces, but simply to provide players the information they need. I wonder how far that applies to other areas of our game. Thinking back to Sinnott's absurd 20/20 pledge, something just focused on the number of goals conceded will be something I'm looking for next season. I'm guessing the budget won't stretch, but maybe some external help is required to coach the side on defensive aspects of the game. Anyway, what was looking like a good, exciting end to the season a month ago is now pestering out into nothingness and a team finishing 18th is a lot less attractive than one finishing 12th, so it's a bit naff all round really.

Have I missed the email to season ticket holders with the additional ticket? Was going to pass it on to a mate at work.

Can't see Gyasi making the squad if he's not getting a place on the bench at the minute.
Especially this one as cup tied as played for Gloucester earlier in the competition.

Sorry, yeah I meant more broadly. When was he last on the bench? He's barely played since he came in, which I'm imagining means he's either got a persistent injury or the management don't fancy him.

Playoffs were never really realistic, in my view, because we're so inconsistent. What I'm hoping will come out of recent games in the appropriate ruthlessness in the summer  because I fail to see how our management team can be watching these games and drawing any other conclusion. 3 clean sheets and the last of those vs Oldham in October. A bottom 4 goals against record. Etc. Appreciating that some of our openness is a consequence of our style of play, that's clearly not good enough if we ever want to be a stable top 10/playoff chasing side. Hopefully it will all happen.
