I think the quote went along the line of “providing immediate support to the first team”
Personally I interpreted that as being monetary support rather than Bill and the rest of directors standing in the Golf road end chanting Parkys name.

I think its the manner of these defeats. Sometimes the ball needs to say hello to the allottments behind the stand rather than be tip tapped across the pitch and then passed to the goalie.
