Questions about the sportsmans dinner
« on: September 24, 2014, 07:49:49 PM »

I'm going to sound silly but I have never been to a sportsmans dinner but really like the idea of this one however,
Is there a dress code (is it black tie etc - not a problem but wanted to know)?
Is it the sort of thing that is suitable to go to with Mrs Ellis - or is it mostly a bloke kind of thing?

Daft questions and I should know this sort of thing at 40 odd but I dont.

Smart attire I think. Not necessarily black tie, but suit etc for the gents.

I suppose that depends on what Mrs Ellis is into. It will obviously be a lot of sports chat so if that isn't her thing then I'd probably tell her he's best giving it a swerve tbh.

Simon - Having attended a number in the past I can confirm the dress code is usually lounge suits for the men.

They are not solely men only events but at a guess I'd say it's normally around 85-90% males.

Whether it's suitable for Mrs Ellis ? it depends on what she thinks of Robbie Savage ?.

I doubt he'll have his Strictly Come Dancing clobber on though ?

The dress code is 'smart casual'.

As the boy Salt says, there are normally a few ladies there.

If Mrs. Apple is unsure, then I suggest that you tell her that it's Lily Savage!

Get yourselves down there, it would be rude not to!
