Exactly this . His lack of instinct and that extra time he needs to think of what to do next has cost us before and will continue to do so . Footballing skills can be improved bit those heat of the moment decision making situations are different .Osborne was my MOTM today he was great. Happy with a point overall but the added time was a joke. Later in the season and we win that 1-0 because of the time. We will be fine this season based on today
I think we're going a little overboard on Osborne here. He still gave the ball away plenty of times, it's just that he managed to redeem a few times with good challenges.
As good as he is technically with his feet - he can often ping a very accurate pass - it's his footballing brain which lets him down; compared to those around him that thread together those lovely one-touch move that set us free on the attack, he'll pause... turn around... and then pass backwards.
One incident epitomised him well in the first half when the ball hung in the air for him unchallenged - his teammate shouted 'time' at least twice... and yet he couldn't get his brain in gear to bring it down, instead he decided to head it aimlessly inside into a dangerous position for them.

Ashworth originally joined us from Chester before leaving for Ellesmere , from whom he returned to ML after one season .Ellesmere Port had hardly any fans which was why they went bump. The trouble at their games, as I remember, was caused by Liverpool and Tranmere fans living locally. Don't forget Ports team comprised mostly of ex Tranmere players (and we signed a couple of them!)Also the legends Mickey Brooke and Gerry Casey of course . Ashworth initially joined us from Chester. I agree with both these views . Bring in a keeper with big match experience for the now and allow Ollie to develop into the player we believe he can become but away from the heated spotlight he is under at the moment.I don't think Ollie is a bad keeper; but any other player would get respite. Dinanga, Osborne, Hulme, Linney if mistakes are made.
Time for Phil to perform a duty of care; bring in a 2nd GK and give Ollie the support he needs. Coming from Welsh Champions behind a top-quality defence, he's being challenged for the first time in his adult career.
100% behind this sensible post. My mind is cast back to Joe Corrigan in the early 1970s at City. The boo boys were rewarded with the signing of Keith MacRae from Motherwell in 1973/74 who immediately took Joe's place in the first team. MacRae cost City £100,000 which was a tidy sum at the time.
Suffice to say that Joe had been retained and developed behind the scenes and it was he, not MacRae, following his return to the first team, who went on to become a City legend.
