Steve Morison - it doesn't help that we are playing Stevenage just as they have come into form.

We keep doing that!

This is all too depressing. Think I'll go back out in the Sun (something we've seen precious little of) and finish mowing Globnasty acres. I can always dream of a come back (although the shot stats are VERY familiar).

In fairness to GG; I think what he was tring to say was that it wouldn't be the end of the world if we got relegated.

However, despite a couple of poor results (or so), there is still a long time to go.

I think we need to knock the mentality that we WILL win next week on the head right now, yes we know we should win as do the players, to gon about it all week will be rediculous, what happens if we gone 1 down ?

We did this last year with the Droylsden games and nearly came unstuck at home !!

To Geoff Godwin,

Accept the mans resignation, promote GB to boss for some continuity and at least give the good players you have at this club a f***** chance before they all become to pi**ed off and clear off to a team that will give them a chance to express themselves..

Peake me I don't care - We were supposed to be more attacking and play an attractive style of football this season. 1 game vs Barrow lived up to it, Wrexham we competed. I'm sick of hearing we should have got something from the game. I watched the football show on Channel M last night and could have predicted that i'd hear We got a good draw against top of the league Salisbury - Anybody stood in the golf road end could do the same job GH does.

The simple facts are if you don't shoot - as happened again today, you don't score.... The gap at the bottom is getting wider already...

FFS - GH man up and stop looking for GG to give you a vote of confidence.

Moan, rant over

Evening guys.

I'm afraid to say you were very very poor today. A pretty dominating performance and very comfortable from the start for us, except for a brief spell in the second half (although we weren't really threatened, you just had possession and were attacking in our half) and the only time you came close to scoring when your striker put it just wide when still 1-0, although i was immediately behind it and Day would have had it covered. Unfortunately i can't really report anything positive for you as there wasn't anything and it was very comfortable for us.

As for the penalty shouts. A few minutes before we got the pen your player scythed down Lawrie Wilson when clear through, which was a blatant penalty, but wasn't given. The penalty we got was not a penalty, but i guess Amy felt she had to give it due to denying the previous penalty shout.

Good luck.

Couldn't make the game yesterday as I was at a wedding.

It sounds like we were woeful, ala Kiddy away.  All very depressing really.  Lewes is now a MUST win game, we have to start taking points at home against teams who will finish in the bottom half!

How many did we have there yesterday by the way?
Title: Re: Today's match thread
Post by: SW on September 14, 2008, 04:57:32 PM
Pretty fair comments Chodovski, I agree.

I'd say we had around the usual 100 for a SE game, but muted noise wise yesterday. We are well known for being loud away. People are clearly pi$$ed off and TBH its a while since I've heard as much dissent from the stand. Got in about 5 mins late following the superb ales at Our Mutual Friend up the road to be greeted by "Who will save you this season" by a steward. My immediate thoughts were shut it  but bit my tongue as I wanted to actually see the game. On reflection, perhaps the bloke was right. 21st......Grays in bother. Jeez, not again.

Yesterday was my first game this season. I don't get to many due to living in Surrey and work/family etc, but I did expect better. In fairness though Stevenage, love em or hate em, are good, professional, and not one of the teams we expect to get to and do something. All this crisis stuff is really due to expectations following some decent signings and a change in our style of play. We should have done better against the lower/ new BSP sides.

For my money Stevenage have started badly but I'd hazard a guess they'll be play off contenders. A couple of wins for us starting against Lewes should install some confidence hopefully. We can't afford to be full time and proud of it I am as I want my club to outlive me.

PS sorry if some think this is the wrong thread for this but there are so many to choose from!
