Another option could be to bring Barry Baggley back in on loan, given we didn't get to see enough of him last time.

He's just made it onto the bench for the first time this season in their last two games, so he's in the manager's thoughts. Probably not likely to be loaned out unless he drops out of the reckoning again.

For what it's worth, I'd still be looking to dip into the market for someone else if we have the capacity to do so.

Well, this is the thing isn’t it. At some point we’re going to have to take the big hard step of spending some actual money on a player. And for me it should be on someone we know to work, ie Newby, rather than the false economy of a gamble on a player we haven’t seen do well for us.

I don't mind dipping into the loan market when done right, a lot of lads that come to us will eventually run out of contract / be released, which would put us at the front of the queue to pick them up for their next club.

Jake Cooper was obviously an example of this, it could be the likes of Eddy Jones this next summer (who knows) or CCC - although Fleetwood do have another year's option on him. From memory we paid Fleetwood a small fee to release Dan Mooney from his contract - if they can stick a cheeky sell on in there, it might make more sense than letting a player's contract run down if they're on the fence about keeping the player anyway.

But ultimately how long can we not retain players and spend time recruiting and training replacements for them? We wasted two months of this season because we lost Mooney and Ferguson (and Marriott and Kosylo really).

No, he isn't. When Pringle came on, we played some really neat football across the central midfield and forward three, it was really good to watch.

Pringle has the ability to interchange , like Newby could. Until we find a suitable player, I would start Pringle over Jackson all day long.

Jackson lacks the quality full stop.

It's hard to accept your view on Pringle...when did he last get chance to play 60 minutes?"

I'm afraid he's going to have to go the same way as Alex Sami if we can't get him fit and available.

Chesterfield, he also got 30 minutes against Maidenhead. We'd failed to win in 10 and got 1 start, he cant do. 90 week in week out

Its hard to accept people would steal from Alty coffers.
