Were that to happen, memories are all the points would be. In the event of a club folding before completing its fixtures the clubs entire record is expunged (great word), meaning all points against said team are deleted from the record.

Apologies should have read .. WHY GO FULL TIME IN THE FIRST PLACE ON 700 fans

It is easy, play the players on full time contracts now (see them out) and ... and wait for this .... DON'T SIGN ANYMORE !!!! Loan out who you can (easier said than done granted) and just see out the contracts and go back part time when they run out? (surely they can't be big contracts at this level ?)
