The pies haven’t been delivered for today - we will try again on sat 25th jan.
To join in the veganuary activities the catering team at Altrincham FC have launched a January trial of 3 vegan pies from our matchday pie supplier Wrights Pies.
With some exciting new flavours we're sure they'll appeal to all customers whether vegan or not and could be a great addition to the matchday menu.
- Red Thai slice - made with puff pastry and packed with butternut squash, green beans, carrots and onions
- Moroccan-style tomato and chickpea pie - which combines sweet potato, cumin seed, coriander, onion and apricot
- Spicy potato and cauliflower pie - a combination of aloo gobi, garam masala and cumin
Available while stocks last in the Sports Hall and Dawns Kiosk - priced at £2 for the Red Thai Slice and £3 for the Pies.

Well done,
Thinking of everyone,
we all like a cheese & Onion pastie👍
-
The Morroccan pie looks good from here. Just unsure of my next trip to Alty.
-
Great stuff Alty catering - you never know it might persuade my fiercely vegan 17 year old daughter to come to her first match since she was about 7!
Seriously, this is exactly how the club needs to be thinking - so good to see
-
Great stuff. Just make sure that Piers Morgan doesn’t find out.
-
Along with the excellent craft beer offering at Libero’ beer shed this is another great initiative by the club. We have to think of our growing fanbase & frame it in the context of what’s on offer in the town centre & try & work towards that. More choice on the food we sell on matchdays including the odd pop up food truck has to be the next logical step we take for me.
-
I know this is non-vegan but I do wish the club would sell bacon butties at their food-huts. Probrably not workable though.
Please don't become another FGR though. All round this is a good idea to cater for all tastes, good that the club have taken it up.
-
It's actually a brilliant idea. Even my wife is tempted by the potato and cauliflower pie!!!
-
Unfortunately the vegan pies haven’t been delivered !
We’ll still aim to trial them for sat 25th game.
Apologies for the false start.

Got to disagree on the food truck. They're a total rip off. They have to generate two profit margins. The one at Southport was particularly poor value

Can something be a vegan pie? Surely it can only be a pie suitable for vegans. A vegan pie would probably not be suitable for vegans at all.

Whenever this is being sold from, get this hammered on Twitter and social media!
This forum is the only place I've seen this, so will not be seen by anyone except hardcore Alty fans.
Let's blow our own trumpet a little more on stuff like this!

The first step on the long road to persuading Morrissey to play a gig in the CSH?

Yes - it was lined up for other avenues - but thankfully we hadnt published anything else before we found the "pies suitable for vegans" had not been delivered!
-
Great initiative. Be good if we could spruce up the corner behind the beer hut and add some more toilets . It's pretty run down that corner and would be ideal use of space . It's where the toilets used to be
-
Looks ace! Fancy one of them Thai slices.

Didn't start here.

Had the potato and cauliflower pie today, very pleasant indeed.
Hope that vegan options remain a constant fixture on the menu.
(BTW, for those not convinced of the case for going plant-based, the Game Changers on Netflix is defo worth a watch).
:o

when did eating vegetables all of a sudden become "going plant-based"?
