Ok so with 15 mins to go we are in the bottom 4 with 5 teams on 52 points.

All five teams will not win or even draw. One WILL lose.

We have to win.

SAFE.

Nothing has changed.

One WILL lose.
Why ? Thought that a few years ago.

and yes it has changed cos we HAVE to win and that still MAY NOT be enough.

Not saying it can't be done, far from it but things HAVE changed and for the worse.

Runcorn,Hucknall,Nuneaton,Kettering....now add Aldershot

I will be just as nervous on Saturday as I was for any of those games (maybe not as much as Runcorn,as the clubs existance was on the line)

Please can we just stay up so the Race Night will be the best ever

It's going to be worse than Nun & Kettering.  Then it was an unexpected bonus at the end of a great season.  Now it feels like impending disaster.  We've been reminded how much better Conf Nat is (especially for Southern based Alty fans who follow most games on here) and to loose it now will hurt more than missing out in the play offs would have done.

Things have definately changed.  The teams most likely to lose on on saturday are Grays and Halifax.  If they'd lost tonight then we would only have to match their result, even a defeat might have done.  Now we have to win and hope they lose - big difference.

Can't see Cambridge losing to a relegated tamworth

Kidderminster have been rubbish against teams in the last month 2 points against Tamworth, St Albans, Grays, Northwich and Woking so I can't see them winning at Crawley

Halifax could struggle at home to Stevenage

Grays at Morecambe is definately our best bet

Stafford at home to a safe and injury hit FGR should manage a point.

certainly not all over yet but the form of the Aldershot keeper is concerning me most at the moment

I may be clutching at straws here but I feel more positive now than I did yesterday.

For a start all the games in hand, permutations, extrapolations etc. are out ofthe equation - we know what we've got to do.

We can and will win on Saturday.  I'd rather be at home to Aldershot than almost anyone else.  They have nothing to play for and are dreadful away from home.

Grays and Halifax have both got much tougher games.  As has been pointed out, the odds of all 5 on 52 points avoiding defeat are long.

I would prefer to know we have to go out and win rather than just avoid defeat - we're not great at that!  Much better to be chucking the kitchen sink than hanging on (although hopefully we'll be doing a bit of that as well!).

If we win and still go down then with 53 points that would be unlucky (again).

Come on Alty.
