Crawley's 4-0 drubbing of Rushden & Diamonds this afternoon is their 28th match unbeaten in the BSBP, thereby emulating the record sequence set by Alty during that memorable 1990/91 Conference season.

Just a slight difference between the respective playing budgets though....!

Their next fixture is away to Newport County on Easter Monday.

So, come on Newport, endear yourselves to Alty twice by caving in without a fight against us tomorrow afternoon and then defeating Evans' mercenaries on Monday!

(Newport County were the last team to beat Crawley in the BSBP, incidentally, back on 16th October 2010).

Fair play they've proved me wrong, I thought they would flop a little but they have (and so they should have done) dominated this season.

Could not care less about the record. All I want at the minute is an Alty win tomorrow. If that means Newport don't try a leg until the end of the season then so be it.

But our record of 28 matches unbeaten and not winning the title remains intact.  Only Alty!
