The two Boshells, Ian Craney, Ben Mills, Greg Young, Joe Mwasile and the rest of our current squad signed up bar one or two.
-
Josh Wilson
-
We haven't seen Ian Craney for years mate. Wonderful talent when last here but does he still have it?
-
Would we be able to make a big enough flag?

Same with someone like Lewis Chalmers. Didn't look anything like the player he was at Alty.
-
According to telford fans craney was poor there and greg young also seems to have lost it a bit ? notice danny hig was only on the bench for sheff u yesterday, maybe next season isn't too soon for him ?griffin from hyde or newton from stockport would be half decent additions
-
Tom Hannigan & Gavin Mahon VM
The Boshell brothers Guiseley
Rob Hopley Colwyn or Jack Laird Staly
Above all, Luca to stay
-
Boshell brothers laird st juste and a big fairly fast centre half from leauge below make way hall Lacey mitchley Brooke rogers or in ideal world Danny higginbotham instead lower leauge centre half

Craney no longer good enough for Telford
-
Yes times moved on if crainey was like he used to be we or no other team in our leauge could afford him
-
I can't see Ian Crainey contributing enough on the pitch, so unless he can make up the difference off the pitch then he's not for Alty.
-
A Manny Panther styled box-to-box midfielder and A Guy Branston meat head styled experienced centreback.
The big names on my wish list however are all currently at the club. Lee Sinnott will do well to sign Danny Boshell on a permanent basis and keep hold of Reeves & Watmore.
-
Reeves and Watmore are on contract
-
Danny Higginbotham may get another year at sheff united now they're staying in the 3rd division, goes without saying he'd be a superb signing, could play at the back or in the middle
-
You are most likely right pete
-
Greg young, past it.
-
Don't think it's age just a total lack of confidence
-
Reeves and Watmore are on contract
Reeves has a clause that he can leave on a free if a league club offers him a contract.
Watmore could easily go to a league one club (admittedly we would receive somewhere in the region of £100k compensation)
-
Watmore's in the middle of a degree still isn't he? It'd take a lot of money to persuade him to throw away the money he's already spent trying to get it.
-
Gk Stu, McMillian as cover & Ried for the future, sorted
RB Densmore & Leather as cover, sorted
LB Buzz & Leather as cover, needs to be improved
CB Havern and Leather, Rogers emergency cover, needs one more quality centre half, let Hall go
LM Clee, Buzz as cover if we get new first choice LB Don't rate Lawrie as LM - is Grimshaw good enough as cover?
RM Richman, Lawrie / Watmore as cover, sorted
CM Boshell (hopefully), Moult, Rogers as cover need more - could be new CM or new RM so Richman can play in the middle
CF Reeves, Watmore , Lawrie as cover needs one more.
So thats a new LB, CB, RM or CM and a big strong centre forward. I think the ones in bold are signed up (Stu might not technically have signed anything but there's no doubt there is there?).
Releasing Hall, Lacey (sorry but need to strengthen so this seasons subs will have to go), Mitchely, Brooke to fund it on one out one in basis (plus Boshell) but hopefully cup money allows the new players to be better & therefore probably on more than the outgoing ones.
Don't see enough of other teams to suggest names but I think those are the priorities.

I would agree with most of that. I've a feeling that Brooke still has something to offer though. Not sure why though and I think Buzz has improved as the season's gone on so if he carries that on next year and doesn't pick up an injury I'd be happy

pretty much spot on imo

Only change I would make is Collister instead of Mcmillan, I really rate Collister and he is young.
Collister is our signed player. McMillan is only on loan.

Wrong! Joe Collister was until injury and Tony McMillan was our player!
-
I agree the quality needs to be CB, CM and CF ...we have a lot of cover players such as mitch lacey & hall who could go and lee will have to decide which of Rodgers, moult, lawrie, leather & brooke we need to keep as cover and which he really wants as first choice/strong bench....personally I'd keep moult lawrie and leather.
Wonder how good greg young would be alongside Havern?
-
I'd love us to sign Luke Waterfall from Gainsborough, he was one of the best CH's in the league last year and his contract is up. Unfortunately, Greg is past his best now. There will be plenty of clubs after him and other Gainsborough players like D Laryea who is also a very good defensive midfielder.

Moult lawrie and leather have signed for next year so I doubt they will go rodgers can play a couplle of positions so is worth keeping , need another left sided player as well as cb., cm amd cf.

B4D, Pukka Pieman,
On what basis is Greg Young not up to it? I don't doubt he could be as good as he was 4 years ago but he was fine when he came back to us last time, a little rusty yes as you would be when you've been sat on York's bench all season but he improved us and it went down hill when York recalled him.
One game at Gainsborough when he got too giddy about playing against Reevesy for the first time and got too tight to him? Hardly think so, you wouldn't have signed Waterfall D'Lareya or any of the Gainsborough players on that night's performance. He looked perfectly solid when they shut us out at Moss Lane in December.
I'm not saying he's as wonderful as I still think he is(!) but I tell you what, he wouldn't have been bullied all over the place by Jefferson Louis on Sunday, I'll promise you that.
Signing him might keep Reevesy sweet as well :)
p.s. agee with you about D'Lareya and Waterfall being decent

Fleetwood released list
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22441584
And apparently the only correspondence southport have had with those they are releasing is to send them their P45 through post!!
-
I heard Collister had put a few pounds on since his injury - Not always the easiest thing to get rid off ( From experience)
Dont think Youngy is the answer - Would like to see James Smith back here though.
Would also like to see a big old centre forward in the mould of Jefferson Louis who did do a number on young Scott Leather, but Hey Scott if you read this, your still a class act and I would like to see you in the team alongside Luca next season.
-
I'd take 5 of that released list. The big old CF that everyone is talking about could be Ben Mills. Craney is wort a pre-season to get himself fit and show what he can do.
People saying that anyone from Gainsborough wouldn't be good enough are delirious. They did a job on us. Yes we did a job on them but everyone has a bad game in them. And from the season it seemed like that was theirs against us.
Waterfall, Young and D'Lyrea would all be great signings that would strengthen us. Then all we'd need is a left winger and a striker and we'd be pushing with strength in depth.
-
Not really delirious, Gainsborough came 8th
That is not good enough for us next year
-
We came 5th, 8 of our best players would be good enough to play in chesters promotion squad.
Its all about little jumps. If you took those three players out of their squad they would have finished a lot lower than 8th.
-
Also Ben Mills not for me, I am sure he could do a job. But we stopped playing football when he was in the side
Craney if only, but a few years to late. If Telford don't fancy neither do I

we came 4th actually, 8 of our players in the Chester team, really?

Apologies. Slip of the finger. Team, no. Squad, yes. Which is what I said originally if you could read.
Ben mills added another dimension we hadn't got before he played for us. We stopped playing beautiful flowing football, but didn't stop playing any football altogether. Surely when it comes down to a SQUAD its about being able to do a job? And normally a different one to the one the first team is set out to do.
-
Dont agree about Ben Mills, the lad has ability but he's better suited to a team that puts lots of balls into the box, whereas we are much more of a pass and move side, indeed when he played we did, as someone else has said, stop playing fluidly.

Spot on
-
An interesting one for me is Chalmers. He is still only 27, don't think the talent has been lost, but his motivation maybe. Remembering he didn't get a proper pre-season last year (wasn't he released by Macc, only to then be on trial with them 2 weeks before the start of the season?), and once you miss all of pre-season you are lagging behind and struggling. If terms would be ok on both sides, I'd definitely take punt at him and get him in early pre-season.

lacey is a similar kind of player and he currently looks better than chalmers

Please refer to the post of mine above yours. We did play less on the ground football when he played for us. But that is what you want from someone on the bench. A different dimension thank the starting 11. Someone to mix it up a bit. We've "out-footballed" teams this year and lost where they have bullied us with their strikers. Someone like Ben Mills could do that for us next year.
-
This is just a random comment but whoever we bring in you would want atleast 3 to be good enough to start at maybe4
-

yes and those four need to be good enough to step upto conference national level the following season should we be promoted.

Smith seemed a right petulant idiot at times. A shame, because he's obviously a good player.

To the person who said Manny panther ex york aldershot and last season kidderminster,im a friend of his he currently has no club lives in Ashton on mersey and believe or not turned out for a sunday team recently,he busy with projects he set up but i know ...i think if Alty got in touch he would def play.

How old is Panther now?
-
Panther is only about 27, I'd invite both Chalmers and panther to train with us preseason, if they want to of course.

It would be easier if Manny contacted the club who's telephone number is on the website...........there's a good chance the club don't have his mobile number ???
-
Manny panther is one of my favourite non alty non leauge players be good for him to have a trial may not work but what harm would it do
-
If Panther fancies a game he knows what to do. If he not up for it he won't do it and thus not up for it and no loss
-
Fair point Jamie
-
If funds were available
Centre back
Higgenbottom
Panther
Boshell D
Boshell N
Big striker
-
Good list perhaps to many same position
-
Simon Ainge, ex Guiseley centre back, been released by Luton
-

Disagree. Sitting back waiting for players to contact us? No ta. If there are players Alty FC want a look at we need to show our positive approach and make contact ourselves.
-
Simon Ainge, ex Guiseley centre back, been released by Luton
Someone at Guiseley asked Simon if he would be coming back to Guiseley and he said don't think so Luton asking too much money for him.
-
Even though he's been released by Luton? Is it 1991 again?
Still, Kittrick doesn't sound hopeful, says he needs a decent budget for next season...
-
So we've got the player everyone wanted great start
