Sunday - Alty fans welcome...

...in the large, spacious Cambridge United Supporters Club.

Opens at 12, £1 entry, but the drinks are on the cheap side for a Southern city such as Cambridge. We will also have a large food bar serving everything from full breakfasts to curry to chilli to chips and more. Big screen televisions with the live football featuring Arsenal v Middlesbrough for those interested.

Safe journey down, and i truly hope you'll be watching the Champions of the Conference, ignoring the slim chances of it actually happening!  ;)

Do you know if we'll be able to get in OK if there is a large crowd?

How much space is being reserved for away fans?

Yes but arrive quite early to make sure, it will get very busy with it being our biggest attendance of the season.

I presume you're talking about the actual ground? You have been allocated the South Habbin Terrace which houses 1,020 bodies. All seated areas elsewhere have been sold out so there is no chance of you been shuffled about between now and kick off.

Is there some system in place to prevent ticketless CUFC fans entering our area and

a Filling it up while we are still in the pub, or

b Causing it to kick off say we win, or score a late one changing the situation?

I too was at Colchester in 1991.

Any United fans entering the away end (they would be obvious) will be ejected from the ground. I very much doubt that will happen as the game is still not all-ticket, and i haven't heard one U's fan say they'd go in the away end should they not get in on various United messageboards. I can honestly say im 99% sure the away support will not be compromised!

Also, it will not kick off at all should you win or draw. Until two weeks ago we didn't think we'd have a cat in hells chance of winning the league, in fact it looked like we could miss out on the play-offs after two straight defeats. So the fans are not really overly expectant of winning the league. Should you win it will still be a cause for celebration for United fans for two reasons - we've made the play-offs and we want to appreciate the players efforts and hard work over the season, so the last thing on our minds would be causing fights.

I guess it will be a strange game for yourselves, you can stand back, relax and watch the events unfold in an electric atmosphere of hope and expectation. It will be an interesting game, as we need to attack, attack, attack... and knowing Alty's grit and determination, it should make for a fascinating spectacle.

Thanks Chris, good post. Hopefully though your once in 5 season fans agree, I know we have our own at Alty.

Although I have to say my previous visits to The Abbey have been fine and friendly.

I know we're not the best travellers but 10/1 on Betfred looks very tempting!
